Ready To Build The Keystone Pipeline? Not So Fast Says The White House

Keystone Pipeline

Ah, the elation that was felt yesterday when the headlines started showing up yesterday. The final report on the environmental impact of the proposed Keystone Pipeline was released, clearing the way for a speedy approval for construction from the White House. One of my coworkers read it out loud and declared it was about time. I pointed out that the favorable report was not the last word and was certainly not an approval to start construction of the pipeline, but my coworker said Obama would have no choice but to approve it. I told him simply, we shall see.

I have felt all along that Keystone would never be built, as long as Obama is President. I do not believe he has any intention of allowing construction to begin. I have said as much in several blog posts on the issue. For anyone who believes the final report is the final word, think again. Not so fast is the warning from the White House. President Obama and John Kerry will make the final decision to approve or disapprove the Keystone Pipeline.

Fox News - A new environmental assessment from the State Department that raised no major environmental concerns on long-delayed Keystone XL pipeline isn't the last step in deciding whether the pipeline can be built, the White House said late Friday.

The long-delayed pipeline got a major boost as it cleared a major hurdle toward approval, a serious blow to environmentalists' hopes that President Obama will block the controversial project running more than 1,000 miles from Canada through the heart of the U.S.

The White House released a statement pushing back on the notion that the pipeline is now headed for speedy approval, saying Sec. of State John Kerry and other agency heads will "closely evaluate" the report in the coming weeks.

"The president has clearly stated that the project will be in the national interest only if it does not significantly exacerbate the problem of carbon pollution," White House spokesman Matt Lehrich said.

"A decision on whether the project is in the national interest will be made only after careful consideration of the SEIS and other pertinent information, comments from the public, and views of other agency heads.”

President Obama has stalled the Keystone Pipeline at every turn. Citing environmental concerns, he has used every excuse he could manufacture to prevent the construction from beginning. Those environmental concerns have now been addressed and debunked, yet he still refuses approval. He has, in fact, given no indication that he has any intention of granting the approval. Never mind that the environmental concerns have been shown to be negligible. Never mind that the report he commissioned has shown there is no real environmental danger. Never mind that the experts have shown there is no real reason to delay the pipeline. You see, President Obama is smarter than all of them. Or so he seems to think.

There have been reports before of how this President conducts business in his White House. He believes he is the smartest man in the room and acts accordingly. No matter what his advisers or the experts say, he is going to do what he wants, what he believes is the right thing to do. Hence, one of the reasons why the Keystone Pipeline will never be built under President Obama. He doesn't believe it is good for America or our energy independence.

There are a few issues on which President Obama is of a singular mind and focus. One of them is the healthcare system in America. We have ObamaCare as a result. Rolled into that is making sure a woman's right to kill her unborn child is not infringed in the least. Pay attention to what Obama says about these issues. He talks about them constantly. The environment is in the same category for Obama. He wholeheartedly believes in global warming and that the human race is to blame. He despises the oil and gas industry and he can not abide what he perceives to be their wrongdoings. Hence, another of the reasons why the Keystone Pipeline will never be built under President Obama.

This is an ideology for him. His actions and words on global warming and climate since becoming President prove it to be so. He perceives the Keystone Pipeline to be a real danger to the climate. There is very little more important to him. Thus, his ideology will prevent him from granting the approval. He will come up with a fabricated excuse, but it will boil down to his ideology. He can do nothing less than follow what he truly believes. That doesn't mean we shouldn't give up the fight, but unless the approval is taken out of Obama's hands, the Keystone Pipeline will never be built.

Any liberal who opposes this pipeline, including our dear leader, should be riding a horse and buggy.

Why don’t the Canadians run the pipe west and ship to Japan and China?

If they let illegal aliens build it I’m sure our dear leader would approve. Republicans should make this job killer campaign issue not Amnesty Light.

He perceives the Keystone Pipeline to be a real danger to the climate.

Nope, he knows better. But empowering the dynamic US oil industry is not what he wants. He hates their independence and he hates Texas for the same reason. He want to destroy the US. Has from since before he was a Senator. He is the Trojan Horse on steroids. And a Fascist/Communist subversive.

Obama is caught in a trap. If he doesn't approve the Pipeline he pisses of the Unions. If he does, he pisses of the Environmentalists.

If it were a Republican President doing this the press would say the Pipeline was a "Wedge" issue as it would split their base.

But because it is a (Liberal/Progressive) Democrat, they hold their fire.

Watch the Democrats squirm more and more as their policies come home to roost.

"if it does not significantly exacerbate the problem of carbon pollution,"

There is his out. Pumping the oil TO refineries in Texas and Oklahoma does nothing to "exacerbate" but just having it refined and used does. He will do everything in his power to make sure it never gets there and instead to reward his benefactors in China who eventually will.

He wants the Chinese to gain profit from refining it and then transporting it all back here as just another means to take us down just one more notch. It has always been about damaging this country and has nothing to do with the environment. Case in point; It is just fin to be killing protected eagles and other winged creatures to advance his super expensive wind energy loser. All the while, the air in China is actually worse than all of the cartoons that the environmentalists want you to believe is happening here.

Why would any non-Indonesian object to a simple pipeline
that delivers jobs and energy and hope?

I have no doubt Obama has no love for Texas or Oklahoma.

As for his ideology on climate change, I think he really believes the things he says. Couple that with the face that he despises the oil and gas industry and you have a President who fights our energy independence at every turn. If it destroys our country, then all the more better.

If you were Canada, why would you want it to lose money to send it to China when all you have to do is ship it across the border?

An even better question for Canada, considering how long it has taken for this one issue, is why not commission the construction of refineries there? I’m sure they would have if they knew this SOB was going to nickel and dime them along the whole way beforehand but this Administration has been carrying that carrot on it’s stick the whole way. Kinda like that State Farm commercial with the fisherman dangling that dollar bill on the fishing line.

I am saying that Canada should do their own thing and stop waiting for Obama. Japan and China should offer a good price, would they not?

There is no way to measure the carbon pollution that will not exist any way.

There is no carbon pollution.

The real danger is continued Obama pollution.

http://www.corbitamaritime.com/Regulations/

They are trying to regulate an end to shipping of oil over the oceans already. Usually, shipping of any material considered hazardous is the responsibility of the shipping originator.

Here is one that will flabbergast you, anyone who contracts the transportation of biomedical waste (doctors offices and hospitals) to an approved bio-med waste disposal facility, is legally responsible for any mishap along the way to that disposal facility, even in the event of the vehicle, for no fault of its own, is involved in any accident. The originator has to pay for the transportation, cleanup and all legal consequences.

Obama is in essence, “closing the George Washington bridge” to punish the good folks of Oklahoma and Texas by not building the pipeline.

The next president's first act on taking office should be to rescind all Obama executive orders. The second act should be to approve Keystone.

It’s not about the environment (although the EPA is the tool of choice in this fight). It’s about tying up our natural resources so we can’t compete with zero’s enablers/puppeteers. That, and so much more to progress the agenda to kill this country. We are already slaves, most of us just haven’t or can’t see the chains yet....
