The Mystery of Missing Congressman Stockman Keeps Getting Weirder
The Wire ^ | Jan 23, 2014 6:13PM ET | Philip Bump

Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas is missing. He hasn't been seen in public since January 14. Reports that he traveled to Egypt couldn't be confirmed by another congressman on the trip — or by Stockman's own office, where the person who answered the phone simply said, "That's the first that I've heard of that."

Short excerpt from a long article about Rep. Stockman and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher being on a foreign fact finding trip.

Some rumors that Stockman was also in Russia, possibly talked with Putin.

After the "State of the Union Speech" he is reported to have said he is going to bring Impeachment proceedings.

It this just weird or is this how bad things really are?

Don't drink the media Kool-aid.

Stockman was at press conferences every day he was on the congressional trip. The media hates you and is lying.

Let’s hope he isn’t hiking in the Appalachians...

Well, my question is “was he ‘disappeared’ by the GOPe, or by Obama?”

OK, if I accept your judgement, did Stockman go to Egypt?

I know the baggage that Stockman carries, but I am convinced exposure of Obama must be done. Hence my interest in this type of article.

When Bachmann, King and Gohmert went to Egypt, it was to gather information from the unfiltered source. Unfiltered by the liars at the State Department.

Since you invoked the Admin tag, you obviously think the source (which I do not have experience with) is invalid.

Well, I respect your perspective.

But my point in posting this was, did he go to Egypt. He has made noises about Impeachment charges before.

If he went to Egypt, I am interested in what he found.

Some folks don’t really care about the truth. They just want something they can use.

Yes, Cornyn is in deep trouble. His recent heavy nonsense ads are an indication of how deep of trouble he is in.

Now, I’m not convinced I would vote for Stockman. But I am NOT HAPPY with Cornyn. He is either clueless, or he is sold out.

Still, the fact that he was holding a news conference every day the press reported him as missing is illuminating.

God Bless Stockman -

Cornyn and friends (democrats/socialists) are pulling out all the stops to smear Stockman.

All the more reason for freedom loving people to distrust the media, and support anti-establishment candidates.

Cornyn MUST go.

In general, week-old news articles aren’t worth posting on FR. As it turns out, all your answers have been here for a number of days:

Agree Cornyn must go. But we need a candidate that will win too.

It does no good to defeat Cornyn to have a ComDem replace him. The tide should be heavily pro GOP in November in Texas, but that is a long time from now.

Cornyn. He is either clueless, or he is sold out

Cornball is NOT clueless; he's sold out. It's Cornball supporters who are clueless. One cannot imagine the liberal votes this man will begin casting after March 4, when he is safely re-nominated.

Stockman sues Cornyn SuperPac for false statements

HOUSTON - Congressman Steve Stockman (R-TX) today filed a libel lawsuit challenging numerous false statements made by a John Cornyn super PAC operating under the name “Texans for a Conservative Majority.”

The Cornyn PAC claims Stockman had been “jailed more than once,” was “charged with a felony” and “violated federal ethics laws,” all of which are false statements.

Step one - defeat Cornyn in the Primary. Stockman is the guy to do that.

Yup.

Stockman may not be the most astute businessman, but he is a solid conservative and diligent in his work.

Stovall is okay too.

Cornyn faces to candidates in the primary who are considerably better than he is.
