From the surprisingly snark-free NYT article:
If Mitch McConnell wins, the party will continue to drift away from its conservative principles and become increasingly hostile to the grass-roots, the Senate Conservatives Fund states on its website. But if Matt Bevin wins, the establishments stranglehold over the party will be broken and power will be restored to the people who elect these politicians.
This was the top story this AM in the digital edition of the Times...
My only concern is the fact that they’re tying success or failure to the McConnell/Bevin race. Obviously beating McConnell would be a big win but its not the only way to win.
I look at the way they declared the defeat of Akin and Mourdock as the death of the tea party while ignoring the fact that the tea party gained considerable strength in the house in the same year (Not to mention the election of Ted Cruz to the senate).
I believe that the inside the beltway boys and girls have absolutely no idea how far they are removed from the thinking in mainstream America. Even the drones on welfare are more conservative and constitutionally minded than the power elite. They have to be sent back to the real world and the sooner the better, for them and for America. God will save the Republic but only if we help.
The RINO party already has drifted away from conservative ways. They are now center-left. No longer center-right. They are just Dimocrat party lite. Conservatives no longer have a home in politics in this nation. No party. No leadership. It really does not matter which party you vote for, you get the same thing. That is why I no longer vote for the republican party. I vote for a person. If that particular position does not have a person running that I can agree with, I simply skip voting that position and move down to the next on the ballot. I am DONE voting the least of evils. Evil is still evil and I don’t concur with this “we have to vote to keep so and so out of office.” That means I have to vote for the McCains, McGramesty’s, etc. over a McObama??? Nope. All are the same and I ain’t voting for any of them.
