Prior to a debate Thursday night with author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza at Dartmouth College, Ayers brought up the subject himself in an exchange with WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi.
The conversation took a familiar path, but toward the end, Corsi tried to cut through the irony, pointing out to Ayers that he typically says he wrote it and will split the royalties with anyone who can prove it.
Corsi asserted that Ayers’ familiar, ironic reply was a declaration that he doesn’t really mean what he’s saying, that he was “taking it back.”
“No, it does not take it back,” Ayers insisted.
“It doesn’t?” asked Corsi.
“No,” Ayers said.
“You wrote it?”
“I wrote it,” Ayers said.
Whether or not Ayers was simply draping another layer of irony on his “admission,” Cashill’s compelling comparative analysis was confirmed in a 2009 book by celebrity biographer Christopher Anderson, “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage,” which recounted in some detail how a desperate Obama in the mid-1990s, facing a second canceled book contract, sought the help of Ayers.

Ping to Corsi on audio getting Ayers to make a “non-ironic” declaration that he wrote “Dreams.” This is what I had hoped D’Souza would obtain from Ayers in the Dartmouth debate, so I am glad to see that Corsi got the job done, although Ayers knows fully well that the MSM will ignore anything the Corsi and WND publish.

I wish we had a list of Obots handy. It wd be entertaining to hear them explain away Ayers’ claim. The ones I used to know who got so upset about (for instance) Obama being called a liar have all been banned. The remaining trolls are pretty weak tea. They never come out and defend O per se; they just defend his forged documents.
The media wool is so thick that ayers can admit to every shady thing he helped Obama do and no one blinks an eye.
Ayers was right. Guilty as sin, free as a bird. We are the dumbest country around.
Having actually read that pile of dung, I find it hard to believe that anyone would admit to having written it. It’s so bad I almost believe that Obama is the real author.

I haven’t read it. I’ve read excerpts, however. I don’t care for the style. The prose is, however, ~a hundred times cleaner and more economical than Obama’s writing. His is painfully basic, wordy and awkward. It hurts your eyes to look at. Ayers is not a great writer, but he puts Obama to absolute shame.
Andersen's book suggests a different understanding of the situation: Obama using Ayers's book To Teach as a template for his memoir, Ayers reading, editing, and revising it.
If that's how it happened, Ayers can plausibly claim that he didn't "write" the book though his influence on it would be clear.
Ayers does realize that before he could ever actually get a royalty check, he would need to take legal action.
