CONGRESSMAN: WE CAN DEFEAT AMNESTY, EXECUTIVE ORDERS

Culberson explains power to stop 'most illegal, unlawful president' ever

The Democrat plan to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. can be thwarted, despite apparent wavering by House Republican leadership, contends a Texas congressman.

In an interview with Michael Savage on his “Savage Nation” nationally syndicated show Friday, Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, insisted, furthermore, that if President Obama tries to advance amnesty or any other initiative through illegal executive orders, he can be stopped, because the House holds the purse strings and can cut off funding for actions that can’t be justified legally.

“The power of the purse is the secret to this guy – the most illegal, unlawful president in American history,” said Culberson, who had just returned from a GOP retreat in Cambridge, Md., where House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, distributed a two-page list of broad principles on immigration.

Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas Seven months after the Senate passed a bipartisan bill with a “path to citizenship,” House Republican leaders Thursday said for the first time they would be open to allowing illegal aliens to live and work legally in the U.S. but would not offer a “special path” to citizenship.

That step in the direction of the Senate plan has many border-security-first advocates, including Savage, worried.

But Culberson emphasized that Boehner told his Republican colleagues in the House that he wouldn’t allow a bill go to the floor unless a majority of the Republican-controlled House is in favor.

Culberson said an overwhelming majority of the members who spoke at the House GOP retreat said “we need to enforce the law first.”

I can tell you what they PROBABLY WILL DO but I can't tell you what they WILL do. Not too complicated a distinction.

Tell me. I’m waiting. What will...

Will? Apparently the distinction is too complicated for you.

What Boehner PROBABLY WILL do is nothing if patriots quit. He may even do nothing if patriots don't give up.

Again, why is a quitter like you here?

Gee...I remember a bunch of people a while back saying that congress could stop Obama’s BS via the purse. I also remember ‘good conservatives’ making all sorts of excuses about why they couldn’t. My how times change.

Even with money already allocated via the prior budget f’ups, Congress can still put a hold on it. They can do any number of things they REFUSE TO.

But I’m sure the sycophants will arrive soon and tell us why we have to ‘wait and see’ and to ‘give them time’ and the rest...as usual.

RE:”You have just defined the Catch 22 of reducing Federal Spending: it is not possible.”

There are way too many of those to list here.

I frequently listened to Rush, Levin and Hannity in the 2000s with a GOP POTUS and they sure weren't saying spending and debt were our biggest problems back then, our biggest problems to them then were the Islamic states and they NEVER called on Bush to veto spending bills that might cut military funding for that purpose.

Their 'too much debt and spending and lets shutdown' real talk didn't start till Obama took office. To listen to them now you would think that they opposed GWB

Sure it is. They put holds on all sorts of funding. There are any number of ways to block the spending of budgeted money up to and including tying it up in court.

Then there’s simply going on TV/press confrence announcing until X is stopped, nothing moves in the house. Just like Ried does with Repub bills in the senate. 100% in their constitutional power.

One other thing. The next time “we” shut down government make sure to tell the wellfare chuckle heads understand that for every day the dims keep the government shutdown they loose a days worth of benefits. And mean it.

I'm sorry Mr. Speaker, but you only had to break that pledge once to forever remove it from your box of persuasion tools.

Primary out Boehner and McConnell (and all the other RINOs). Set a political example of what happens to political whores who break a pledge.

It’s up to the voters in KY and part of OH, because the GOPe will never remove them from their leadership positions. The individual in this story is not a very good example of someone who would stand up to Bonehead.

Primary out Bonehead?

The GOP controlled House could remove Bonehead from his speakership
today, if they chose to do so. They seem to like him. In fact they are going to
help him and the democrats pass amnesty.

What’s your plan then? Tell us all to vote for Jeb Bush because he is
a lessor evil than Hillary.

And speaking of Hillary. These GOP hacks like Issa are too afraid to
put Hillary under oath.

So far the House has given a free pass to the Marxists to spend what they want.

The RINO-E party is the go along to get along party and has done severe damage to our country and our freedoms due to their crony capitalism and fear of violating the rules of Political Correctness.

Culberson is my Rep. By going on the “Savage Nation” he must be feeling some heat. His Southeast Texas district is republican. At this time he has no opponent in the March primary.

It is a shame this ass who is on the Appropriations comity, therefore he is fully bought by Boehner, will not vote to keep America a constitutional republic.

His votes have been in full support of Boehner’s policies
