While I am in genuine agreement with you that there are SERIOUS problems with legal immigration, for you to say that “the problem is not illegal immigration,” I confess that I will have to say I wonder if your are with the Chamber of Commerce? LULAC? WTH?

Sorry, BOTH kinds (legal and illegal) of immigration are a problem. For you to use the (serious) problems posed by the way our country is managing legal immigration to somehow negate (or distract from) the equally egregious problems posed by illegal immigration, is — if not downright intellectually dishonest — then, may I suggest, at the very least, indicative of a shallow understanding of the topic. (Minimizing a serious issue never resolved it.)

There are studies that show that illegals are putting a very heavy load on our health and other services. Are you saying that is okay? I am only getting started. (Think: Crime rates, public school enrollments, uninsured drivers, etc.)

Just because someone wants to be here does not automatically make him a good guy. We have let many child molesters, rapists, murderers, and gangsters in via illegal immigration, and they have notched up real victims, but this is not a problem to you?

It is our country, and we can decide whom we wish to get here, or not.

Nowhere have the common US citizens said they welcome 25 million illegals. You are at risk of coming off as a bit of an elitist, I should think.

We’re nearing the time..... whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

What this means is that the people no longer control their own destiny - it is being controlled by those that have the money. I have given up on crying foul here or anywhere else for that matter - it matters little. The Tea Party was the last resort and look where they are now - condemned by news folks, Republicans, not to mention the Democrats.

We’ve lost the battle it seems... I will stand by and watch the fall of the Republic and thank mostly the Education system that failed us along with both political parties.

I am assuming that this is my last post here as I have given up on any positive outcome for the future - the way things have been going... Have little hope for our future since our young have been raised on such liberal tripe!

Oh, please, the people who kill people in every city are American born blacks. Latin and Caribbean immigrants kill very few people, unless they are involved in the drug trade, in which case they kill other drug dealers.

I grew up in NYC, and when I lived in Upper Manhattan, it was the Dominicans (mostly black Caribbean Hispanics) who brought law and order back and actually let us Irish go back into the parks, because they simply stabbed any of the people from Harlem who tried to bust up their birthday parties in the park, hold them up on the way back from their jobs, etc.

You are clearly pretty ignorant.

And you know what, I’ve decided to call the dems too.

Why the heck are our elected EMPLOYEES all so anxious to appease the interests of people who should not even be in this country? The illegals aren’t paying their salaries, we are.

First, I have no objection to your characterization of the high murder rate among native-born American blacks, and I do not question your account of the favorable impact that Dominicans (but, I suspect, they were mostly legal immigrants?) on your Manhattan neighborhood.

However, for one casting aspersion on the erudition of others, you do seem to be just a wee bit provincial in your knowledge of the extent of crime perpetrated on our population by illegals.

Let me give you the most recent example of which I am aware that happened here in San Antonio (one of the nicer parts of town, not one of the tougher areas).

Here was an illegal who was apparently not high on drugs, not involved in gang activities, not involved in the drug trade. Rather, he apparently just wanted to cut up a beautiful, young, white girl (who had done Christian missionary work) as she was jogging in a public park here. Oh, he had already served hard time, and — perhaps consistent with your own tolerant views — simply been released back onto the streets to wreak more havoc.

If you continue to minimize the negative impact of illegals on this country in this fashion, I will be forced to question either your intelligence or your honesty — something I hate to do anyone of Irish extraction.

You say you are from New York City. I am not as familiar with how things are up there. Clearly, however, you do not appear to be from Southern California or South Texas.

P.S. Do you know why we pay among the highest auto-insurance premiums in the country here in San Antonio? (Not because of American-born blacks, let me assure you!)
