Tuesday is D-day at Time Inc.

Around mid-morning, staffers are expected to start hearing how deep the cuts will be as Time Inc. CEO Joe Ripp unveils what is likely the last big downsizing before Time Warner spins off the publishing group as a separate company later this year.

“It’s very nerve racking,” said one source inside the company that publishes People, Time, Sports Illustrated and In Style.

I had the Time from November 1963 when I gave it to my son last year.

It had 250 pages with everything from news to sports and theater reviews.

Trying to feel any sense of sorrow. Nope, I just can’t manage to give a tinker’s damn.

I certainly hope that no true conservatives work for them, even tangentially. If liberals, I hope they lose their shirts, cars, homes, etc. And then I hope for a very cold winter.

These fascists are worse than our sworn enemies. They are every bit as evil and condemnable as rabid Islamo-fascists.

Beat me to it. I figured they had like 50 writers, maybe 10 guys in IT, 10 graphic designers and some managers.

Oh there is so much truth there.SO much truth.

I worked with a bunch of them at a newspaper. High turnover, low output and zero knowledge of their ‘craft’ much less the world around them. But they DESERVED. Oh how they DESERVED. Because J school taught then the most important thing.

They DESERVED.

it won’t be long before barrycades decides it’s a national security issue to bail out and take over all us media companies. and then passes a law requiring all households to subscribe to three periodicals a year or face fines and jail time.

actual printing companies tend to be more conservative and run by conservatives, bvecause they actually need to create and deliver the proper number of finished units by a fixed deadline. least the ones around me, i know the owners are conservative.

The last Time magazine I looked at was their “gun ownership=suicide” issue. That was sometime in the mid 80s, I think.

Hmmm.... income inequality

The layoff means some have 0 income

A more equitable means of achieving economy would be to reduce all wages to the point where the total equals the new status quo total after the lay offs.

The only Time I've read in years has been in my doctor's waiting room.

It's basically a pamphlet with a fancy cover now and appears to be written by monkeys who've been taught to peform simple repetitive tasks.

Guess it’s time for a rerun of the “We’re ALL Socialists Now” cover.

Best comment on the thread so far.

I just dropped SI. Don’t know if you’re talking PSU or OSU, but their hit job on Okie State did it for me.

I’m a Sooner, but didn’t like little brother being picked on.
