Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) sought to emphasize his Tea Party ties Monday by signing papers to file for reelection with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).
In a video released Tuesday, McConnell is shown signing his filing papers with Paul and state Agriculture Commissioner James Comer (R), who are both Tea Party favorites in Kentucky.
McConnell, long a target of grassroots conservatives, is facing a primary challenge from businessman Matt Bevin, who has already won the backing of some prominent national conservative groups.
The incumbent has been working to shore up support on his right flank for months. He won Paul's endorsement and has emphasized conservative causes, like the Balanced Budget Amendment. McConnell voted against a two-year budget deal approved by Congress last month.

TEA Party ties?
Pardon me while I go laugh hysterically for awhile.
I see three chickens and a turkey.
This post must be satire.
Ditch his lame Butt.
Rand Paul is no Conservative....
Randistinians need to drop the Paul 4 President stuff...keep that Liberal at home
Conservatives will be backing Matt Bevin
I am still sending money to Matt Bevin....
...make sure you go down the page a bit.
Then check out this You-Tube report: LINK
Rand Paul would have been a better president than Mitt Romney and far better than Obama.
Not that those are a very high bars to clear...
McConnell = ObamaCARE, DNC, deficit and treason-enabler.
Support Matt Bevin to oust Mitch McConnell in KY
“The incumbent has been working to shore up support on his right flank for months.”
Yeah, we know all about the 6 year metamorphosis.
“He . . . has emphasized conservative causes, like the Balanced Budget Amendment. McConnell voted against a two-year budget deal approved by Congress last month.”
Yeah, after working behind the scenes to make sure the budget-busting Ryan/Murray deal would pass without his vote.
Mitch, you’re just not conning many people these days. We know what a lying, conniving jerk you are.
Who cares what politicians claim? Voters with half a brain will look at his record. If he didn’t fight to keep taxes and the size of government down where the voters want, then he should be fired - along with every other politician who fails to do the same.
(Ditch) Mitch is NOT a leader consistent with full support of the US Constitution.
The tea party is dead Mitch. /s
It’s clear to me what McConMan is doing here...
He believes there are MORE low info voters (Dem & Pub) than conservatives... This the his hail mary approach... Watch for it to intensify as the primary season continues...
No matter what happens to Bevin, McConMan MUST GO...
Ole Mitch got himself a 3 billion dollar pork project to sell out Cruz and the House Conservatives last December.
