Colorado high school to students: No celebrating America. But Cinco De Mayo is just fine.

Hey - if they can expel a kid for eating a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun, they are capable of any kind of idiocy.

Fox News:

Students and parents at a Colorado high school are outraged after administrators turned down their request for a spirit week day honoring America because it might offend non-Americans.

"They said they didn't want to offend anyone from other countries or immigrants," a 16-year-old member of the student council told me. "They just really did not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable."

The student council at Fort Collins High School had proposed having a day to celebrate the United States during next week's Winter Spirit Week. The young people pitched "'Merica Monday" - and invited their classmates to dress in patriotic colors. Their proposal was promptly shot down by administrators.

"They said they didn't want to be exclusive to any other country," a 17-year-old member of the student council told me.

The students and parents who talked to me about this incident have asked to remain anonymous. The parents feared their children might face reprisals from liberal educators.

"It's bizarre and idiotic that we've come to this crossroads in our society that we are having to sacrifice our own culture and belief system," one of the parents told me. "I can't even tell you how it got our blood boiling."

After the administrators rejected the day to celebrate America, the teenagers offered a compromise - "My Country Monday."

Parents of students in this school, please tell the school to go pound sand.

Back many years ago, the president of Mexico went to England on a goodwill tour...While there, he sampled a condiment that he truly fell in love with...he asked that tons of this condiment be shipped to mexico so that his people could also enjoy this wonderful condiment...

While on it’s way, the ship in which the British shipped this condiment struck an iceburg and sank. It was the Titanic.....

The president of Mexico was so distraught over this that he declared a holiday for his people...”Sinko da Mayo”

Cinco de Mayo is Karl Marx birth day.

and Earth Day is Vladimir Lenin’s birthday.

It’s amazing isn’t it in the absolute depths these people will go to NOT insult or offend, Muslims, Mexicans, immigrants of any sorts.

No it isn't. What's amazing is the American people for the last 40 years have allowed the evil controlling government, those who control the money, sent us trillions into debt, who made citizenship and our borders all but pointless as millions were allowed in and even subsidized them to defecate on us and our country.

Cinco de Mayo is a stretched interpretation of an unrecognized Mexican holiday that was promoted by makers of Corona Beer and Jose Cuervo tequila.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I thought this was the reason for the Mexican holiday....

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the very next port of call after the Titantic’s stop in New York. This shipment of mayonnaise would have been the largest ever delivered to Mexico but as we all know the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank. The cargo was lost forever. The people of Mexico who were crazy about mayonnaise and eagerly awaiting its delivery were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great that they declared a Nation Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning ocurs each year on May 5th and is known of course as -— Sinko de Mayo.
