Budget office chief: ObamaCare creates ‘disincentive’ to work
Fox News ^ | February 5, 2014 | FoxNews.com

The head of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office delivered a damning assessment Wednesday of the Affordable Care Act, telling lawmakers that ObamaCare creates a "disincentive for people to work," adding fuel to Republican arguments that the law will hurt the economy.

The testimony from CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf comes after his office released a highly controversial report that detailed how millions of workers could cut back their hours or opt out of the job market entirely because of benefits under the health law.

The White House and its Democratic allies accused Republicans, and the media, of mischaracterizing the findings. But Elmendorf backed Republicans' central argument -- fewer people will work because of the law's subsidies.

The entire entitlement/moocher system of free fairy skittles is a disincentive to work. You can make more per year mooching than with a job today.

Something passed unilaterally by a Democrat majority is hurting the country? I’m shocked!

Like the old saying goes.... "One man's Disincentive to work ... Is another mans Incentive not to work."

Or “ability to not work and still eat”.

This is what the left defines as “freedom” - not having to provide for yourself.

Working full 40 hour weeks is going to cost my brother almost $800/month difference between getting a subsidy or not.

He is actually considering legally divorcing his wife to be able to afford insurance

“There's no spinning this....!”

***

The Obama administration is doing just that. The theme is, now if you want to quit your job, you can and not have to worry about health care coverage. Of course, if everyone quits working, who will have the money to keep this economy going?

It's all part of the socialists’ scheme to create and expand an ever growing pool of leeches and slackers dependent on the nanny state.

Sure there is. Just check out this quote:”

The law means people “will be empowered to make choices about their own lives and livelihoods,” said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday.” They just forgot to tell us that Obamacare was really about freeing us for self-fulfillment. We just all need to find our inner path and not worry about work. Obama is turning the US into one great welfare, dependency state and more and more people who work are going to see themselves as chumps and quit, too. If Obama has his way, the whole country will go into a death spiral.

They want the working taxpayer to be tax slaves to support the democrat machine and its supporters.

Where are the “masters” going to get their bread for the masses when the majority of us who aren’t killed off first by obama’s non-care stop being tax slaves, are laid off, lose our businesses or just stop working ourselves to death as slaves to the non-working classes and demand our part of the handout?

.... As Americans are discovering ..... With the advent of Socialized Medicine comes the accompanying new system of government and social behavioral changes and taxation that support it.

..... This was all as predictable as the sun rising in the East ..... and finally setting in the West.

I can see a real mess with people taking subsidies and then are required to work overtime pushing them out of subsidies altogether...

We sometime get Prevailing Wage contracts.

Our guys wages can vary $10-15,000 from year to year. Supposedly you are to anticipate your earnings and let the Government know ahead of time so they can calculate your policy cost.

He pointed to more positive findings in the report, including that health care premiums would go down.

Only for those people who now qualify for Medicaid or subsidies. Everyone else is paying through the nose.

It would stink if one is in a line of work like construction where hours fluctuate heavily. One would be logging on the healthcare site constantly unless they decided to reconcile at tax time..
