Florida Woman Furious After SWAT Team Orders Her Out of Her Own Home During Standoff With Neighbor

A Jacksonville homeowner thought she may have been robbed Sunday, but realized instead her home had been altered by a SWAT team.

Deborah Franz was told to leave her home by police during a standoff with her neighbor over the weekend. According to WTEV-TV, Franz overheard loud fighting next door, and then saw SWAT team members swarm the street.

“The cop goes ‘You all need to leave, you can’t be in your house,’” Franz told the station.

BINGO. We got the cop in this county that killed the father in the Wesley Chapel theatre. Case coming up and I have jury duty coming up too.

Frankly, if that were to happen to me, I believe that I’d have a medical episode and drop to the floor.

Great advice...
even when involved in a shooting...at least claim you are under stress but ‘keep your wits about you’ long enough to say “If you are going to read me my rights, you can skip down to the part where you say ‘If you desire a lawyer, one will be provided etc etc’
“Even so, you do NOT have permission to search me or my vehicle and I will option to remain silent until I am properly represented”.
THEN you can go into ‘shock’.

Then take your beating like a man...hopefully recorded etc..

U.S. Constitution, Third Amendment: No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Another part of the Bill of Rights down the toilet.

That is an explicit threat that if you are on that jury, you found him guilty already.

Regardless of what you feel about a case, what you think about the facts of the case as a juror should drive your decision.

Just a thought. . .other may feel differently.

Does the Third Amendment apply to local law enforcement?

Interesting question.

I think the Fourth Amendment has more applicability here.

but they love kickin in doors ! It’s fun! Some of them utilize martial arts side kicks , some learned forcible entry while in the Service and this is the only time they get to practice .

and amazingly most folks in the US never take the time to ‘harden their doors’ , so a simple quick ,well placed kick is all it takes . harden your doors folks . Add steel to the entire framework and back up the dead bolts with steel plate , set those hinge inside .

Oh , I forget they can always just bring along a breaching shotgun .

My local police department has most of those in effect already. Thing is, while many moan about the police and demand such things, very few actually volunteer their time to audit a police academy class or ride along.

End of this month I am one of just a couple of civilian volunteers to audit a police academy class. The public relations division is asking if we can find others that want to audit other classes. . .they run adverts in the local paper, run spots on the radio. . .hardly anybody asks.

Oh, number 3 is a little odd to me. The police chiefs answer to the City Manager or Mayor. Adding a civilian “chief” would mean the guy would be answering to the same City Manager of Mayor.

Feh...get their names, find their homes. Visit them at night. Some of the founding fathers did such and many problems were solved.

Charge them rent for using the property. Add a surcharge for not making a reservation, and a clean up fee to return it to its original condition.

Oh , I forget they can always just bring along a breaching shotgun .

I saw some steel doors when I was in Europe which a breaching shotgun would have a hard time with. Wood over steel with multiple bolts.
