Most gun owners use their guns legally and responsibly, and the President strongly believes in an individual right to bear arms, but we need to take action to better protect our children and communities from tragic mass shootings like the one in Newtown, Connecticut.

We know from his track record on health care (”if you like your health plan you can keep it”, etc. that if he said this it is absolutely certain he is lying.
Who has a plan to reduce the carbon emissions coming out of Obama’s mouth?
THE PRESIDENT’S PLAN INCLUDES: [but is probably not limited to... ]
1. Closing background check loopholes to keep guns out of dangerous hands
2. Banning military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and taking other common sense steps
3. Making schools safer
4. Increasing access to mental health services

Hmmmm. Mental health services? Does that mean some PA at the doctors office may annotate something in your charts that could be misconstrued as a “mental health issue”?
The simplest way for him to have success would be to require his supporters to disarm. US jails are teeming with violent felons who support liberalism at near unanimity.
Oh, I'm sure some health care professional somewhere along the line has noted on my chart, "This guy's a jackass."

Crime reduction aside, wouldn't it be a show of good faith and noble intentions if all Democrats turned in all of their arms voluntarily? Just to show us the wisdom of their intentions? After all some 40+% of Dems are gun owners according to statistics. It should only take a couple of years to show how dramatically things have changed.
#1: home-schooling reduces school-shootings
#2: tracking and monitoring students on mind-altering prescription medications reduces school attacks
#3: Time-limiting Supplemental Social Security, welfare, and unemployment benefits makes families move to where jobs are located, such as in oil-fracking North Dakota and Texas, instead of sitting around all day collecting free checks for doing nothing...which the time cut-off would, if tried, reduce school assaults (and improve the economy...right now Rigzone.com gets more six-figure job openings for people without college degrees each day than they get job applicants).
#4: filling jails with non-violent marijuana users while paroling violent sex-offenders, burglars, and murderers increases crime rates. Home-confinement for non-violent crimes and parole-abroad (e.g. mine-clearing in Afghanistan) for violent offenders would reduce crime.
#5: Fix the System...because it is broken. Allowing police to lie to trick offenders into confessions and having the NSA spy on all American emails and cell phone calls creates a level of anti-government animosity that can not help to calm society. The government should be a shining example of behavior, not an unethical beast determined to push the limits of the law.
