Listen to this exchange - the targeting clearly WAS about the ELECTION.
Cummings asks if poll workers were sent out to polls equally in North Carolina.
Response: Tru the Vote provides training, but has no control over where volunteers may offer assistance.
Over and over Cummings attempts to change the mission of the Tru the vote organization & does not seem to understand the stated mission.

Not “should” Republicans win the Senate, WHEN Republicans win the Senate!
And, Several committees need to be formed in the House and Senate: at least 4 ethics/impeach committees; one each for the President, the House, the Senate, and judges. And, of course, election FRaud.
And, there are probably several others that will be needed to root out criminal behavior by the Democratzis!
Punch back twice as hard.
Hey, GOPe RINOs. This is how you fight back.
GO CATHERINE!!!!!! FIGHT THOSE EVIL, VILE DEMOCRATS!!
Can’t pick on Elijah Cummins because he’s TOO DUMB to pick on....DUMB....even DUMB than MOST of the DEMOCRATS....it’s the DUMB and UGLY PARTY!
Wonder how cummings will react when the illegal voter fraud cancels out black voter fraud. Should be interesting.
There was divine intervention at work here. Catherine must have had a direct connect to the Good Lord to be able to hold her tongue when dealing with that POS.
Rep. Elijah Cummings is a despicable partisan resist!
Whoa! Just saw a segment on Megan Kelly’s program that addressed this topic. Scary!!!
Horse puckey.
Cummings was given thouse questions by his 'handlers' and was tasked directly with attacking this women to try and get sound bite they could use for propaganda.
I suspect that their is a legal team at the DoJ that is tasked with this stonewall and it is coordinated with the ministry of propaganda in the White House.
The letters he said were at the Democrat portion of the committee are no longer there. The link is broken. I also could not find them at his website. Anyone know where all 3 letters can be read?
She also accused him of libel per se based upon his TV appearances. She is probably a public figure so getting damages would be difficult, but discovery would be brutal for him.
Based on his comments about the Groups and Catherine on national TV I think Ethics charges are the least of his concerns. He may be immune from some things while running his trap in Congress, when he goes on TV and makes comments that are not true and he took no effort to verify the accusations he shows his true intentions.
She has a clear case of Libel, Slander, defamation of Character, abuse of power, attempted violation of her right to Assemby, petition her government and Freedom of Speech.
Me thinks Elijah could end up flat broke after the Civil suits.
Seems like these senators should be held accountable.

Michael F. Bennet, U.S. Senator
Al Franken, U.S. Senator
Jeff Merkley, U.S. Senator
Charles E. Schumer, U.S. Senator
Jeanne Shaheen, U.S. Senator
Tom Udall, U.S. Senator
Sheldon Whitehouse, U.S. Senator
Carl Levin of Michigan did it in writing as well -
check out post 30 - this is earlier than the article from Daily Caller identifying an email with a date of June 2012.

It looks like Sen. Shaheen at least is now trying to use the dates of the letters as cover for her involvement, as you surmised. But the timeline suggests she and her colleagues were really trying to get the IRS to resume and amplify their targeting of conservatives which was ongoing in early 2012.
An article here in Foster’s Daily Democrat by Jim Haddadin reports that:
http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130516/GJNEWS_01/130519429
In the Feb. 16, 2012 letter, Shaheen and other lawmakers urged the IRS to develop new standards to evaluate the activities of so-called social welfare organizations...
The same group sent a second letter to former IRS commissioner Douglas H. Shulman in March 2012. ... The senators also called for the IRS to require organizations to document the exact percentage of their undertakings dedicated to social welfare”.
The parameters were changed once again in January 2012, allowing for IRS workers to once again parse applications based on political beliefs. The new guidelines called for scrutiny of organizations involved in limiting or expanding government, educating people about the constitution or promoting social and economic reforms, according to the report. The practice finally ended in May 2012, when the criteria was revised once again.
No, not horse puckey - it was clear he was not acting on behalf of the Committee or as part of the official Committee investigation procedure - whether he undertook it on his own, because of a hypersensitive belief that the woman from Truethevote really was trying to deny blacks their voting rights which is the current counterattack against the group, or some coordinated effort by his “handlers”, or more probably both, what he did was clearly not an appropriate act for a single member of the committee.....
Cummings is more than black...he is EVIL just like obama..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Exactly. He is a no count, ash hat racial supremicist, bent on establishing Black Nationalism as a driving force. Dress him in a dashiki and he would be happy to immediately announce the formation of the United States of Zimbabwe.
Cummings and his ilk are simply put: fascists. They have no regard for the Constitution.
And thats no reach, Good Read:

The dems bristle at any positive mention of the McCarthy Era. Now they want to conduct their own version. Its clear now that McCarthy did not go far enough to extinguish the seed of utopian fascism that these seven Senators represent.
