There’s a tangible value in higher education for embracing leftist theory. Just ask high school and university students attending the upcoming national White Privilege Conference.
“High school students, undergraduate and graduate students may earn 1-4 hours of academic credit at either the undergraduate level in Women’s and Ethnic Studies or Education: Curriculum and Instruction, or at the graduate level in Sociology, or Education: Curriculum and Instruction,” the conference’s website states.
High school students seeking credit are required to read “Privilege, Power and Difference” by Allan G. Johnson as well as “Understanding White Privilege” by Frances Kendall.
Twenty percent of a student’s grade is comprised of writing a three-page paper on their “personal privilege,” where students consider, among other things, “how has privilege, in any/all forms, shaped your life? (consider race, class, gender, sexuality, disability, etc.),” according to the syllabus.
Another 30 percent of a student’s grade is comprised of creating an “action plan” to implement what they learn at the White Privilege Conference into their personal and school life. Such suggestions include:
Starting a student club focused on issues of diversity, privilege and inclusion at school, or a youth group at your church, synagogue, recreation center, etc. Developing a specific workshop you would like to present at school or in some other organizational setting once you return home A film series you would like to organize and offer for your school or community
Many states require teachers to take additional college courses to maintain their teaching certificate. The White Privilege Conference organizers have that covered, too.
“For participants seeking clock hours or continuing education units in fields other than education, we provide general [Continuing Education Units]. General CEUs provide a means of documenting and verifying hours of participation at the WPC. Participants are responsible for contacting their employers, professional organizations or governing bodies to find out if these general CEUs will be accepted,” the site claims.
This year’s White Privilege Conference will take place March 26-29 in Madison, Wisconsin.
In addition to public employees attending, taxpayers are also sponsoring the event. So far, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Northern Iowa are listed as sponsors.
EAGnews attended last year’s conference and reported some 2,000 people from 41 states attended, according to organizers.

This is similar to the University of Minnesota College of Education doctrine that any student in the Coolege Education who believes that any student in an inner city school can accomplish academic achievement, using real education as a means of social mobility, will not receive a degree from the College of Education. Maybe I should call the place University of Moskva on the Mississippi. Now do they have an equivalent of Patrice Lumumba University?
Exactly WHAT privilege is there in being a white,christian,heterosexual male these days? Did I miss a meeting at the White Power Club or something?
How about if after attending one of these "training sessions" I start a community group with the sole purpose of warning the sheeple out there what absolute and mind numbing twaddle this whole white privilege garbage really is. I wonder how many credits I'd get for that?

Its easy to get really paranoid and imagine that the progressives have all kinds of nasty things planned for whites. The least of all relegating them to second class status.
I read out your comment to my liberal spouse (bless her). We both had a jolly old laugh. What may be the tactic to bring the full light on these elite persons is old fashioned humour. I sat full light, for they are like maggots. For if I, a working class snot nose from the UK, were to tell them of my struggles, they would sneer and laugh.
Once people start laughing at them, they are done for. This will not happen overnight.

I had some idiot professor, who is a friend of an actual friend of mine, argue with me on facebook that I had white privilege that caused me to prosper in life (mind you I’ve never actually me this jerk)..
I told him (then living in Columbus, Indiana-which is mostly white), that I and others that haven’t grown up RICH did not prosper by “White Privilage”. That it is B.S, that it doesn’t matter one’s race, I haven’t benefited from anything for only being white. I am not a millionaire, in fact I am just starting out in life and unemployed in this economy (thanks Obama)!

- Raised by 2 parents
- Got a good education
- No criminal record
- Get a job due to your abilities
- Work hard
- Pay your own bills
I fail to see what the big deal is. If whites were 12% of the population and blacks were a clear majority I guarantee there would be black privilege. Truth is I know a few whites who were passed over for promotion because a black was required per quota regardless of experience or other qualifying factors. Not as much white privilege today as they want you to think.
