I don't think that he is a bad person, but he is in horribly over his head.

Think back to the sequester negotiations (and IIRC), was it not Boehner who somehow thought that the Dems would never cut the defense funding?

Mister Boehner drives a soft bargain, and does not appear to be especially well-prepared, interested in details or consequences, or interested in doing the extensive homework it takes to deal w the Dems' vast legal army.

Speaking of "courage", one hopes that the House GOPers might somehow be brave enough to elect a new SOH.
