CENTENNIAL, Colo., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- The death of the chief of the American Title Co., under investigation by state insurance regulators, was a suicide, the Arapahoe County, Colo., coroner said. Richard Talley, 57, was found dead in the garage of his Centennial, Colo., home, earlier this week, the result of self-inflicted wounds from a nail gun, the Denver Post reported Friday.
Talley, and the company he founded and led as chief executive officer, are under investigation by the Colorado Division of Insurance, a part of the state Department of Regulatory Agencies which regulates title companies, an agency spokesman confirmed Thursday.
Department spokesman Vince Plymell said an investigation was focused on Talley and his company but did not offer details.

“It would appear, unfortunately, that Mr. Talley was not an entirely honest man...
Talley’s 1989 wedding announcement in the Chicago Tribune noted he was “a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic swimming team.”
A spokeswoman for USA Swimming on Thursday said Talley was not on the team.”

Ban nail guns.
I hope he followed the instructions and wore eye protection...those things are dangerous.
Was it a single shot? Or, one of those evil, high-capacity 50 nail-strip versions?
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
I blame it on the Colorado Gun Control Law.
They didn’t go far enough, ban all nail guns.////
Could he possibly have been a liberal who thought that firearms are evil and to be avoided?
Around here we call seven or eight wounds from a nail gun which results in death a “homicide”.
The killer has to be LTAO.
At least he didn’t flaunt the law and use a high capacity nail gun.
I ain’t buying
no one kills themselves with nail guns
stinking ins co just doesn’t want to pay
I wonder who will replace him?
I think he had a itch and forgot... blam!
He was not one of those that had a nail in their head and did not know it. http://abcnews.go.com/images/Health/ht_nail_in_head_nt_120120_main.jpg
I wonder how long it took the coroner’s crew to pry him loose from the wall?
Apparently is isn’t super uncommon, but not the most efficient way.
Nail Gun Suicide would be a great band name.
I agree. I know nail guns, and NO BODY can fire multiple shots into their head...This is so phony......Suicide my foot.
The ZH comment thread for this story is CLASSIC! :-)
Appears he was nailed more than once
My wife (a nurse) loves to watch those ER dramas and I can recall several where people survived a single nail-gun shot to the head...and lots of other skull penetrations.
She likes to watch these programs right before bedtime!
