Mary Matalin: Hillary Won't Even Run
NewsMax ^ | February 8, 2014 | Sandy Fitzgerald

The wide variety of potential candidates for the Republican presidential nomination boils down to one question in many quarters — which one can beat Hillary Clinton?

But to at least one powerful Republican consultant, Mary Matalin, the "Hillary" question is pointless.

"Hillary Clinton’s lead is ephemeral," Matalin told Politico Magazine. "As soon as she gets in, if she gets in, she will be challenged and it will evaporate. Just the nature of the beast. I predict she doesn’t run."

---snip---

Political consultant and media strategist Mark McKinnon predicts a "Clash of the Titans" battle between Clinton and Bush for the White House in 2016.

"Jeb Bush is the sort of pragmatic, common-sense and compassionate conservative Republicans need to win back the White House," said McKinnon. "He’d attract Hispanics and likely win the key electoral prize of his home state, Florida. And he has a great record to run on, including some innovative, forward-thinking strategies like early childhood investment. Florida leads the country in the number of four-year olds in literacy programs—over 70 percent, and Jeb did it without increasing taxes."

McKinnon said he is not worried about either Bush or Clinton being too familiar for voters to choose....

I would actually have an open mind about Bush, if his name wasn’t Bush. We don’t need a rulling class, we don’t need some odd monarchy.

Her health will be a factor. She often looks awful. She was an awful Secretary of State, She just flew around glad handing world leaders, dictators and strong men.

If she does run, the first thing to see is her medical
records, all of them.

I personally don’t think she will run, her health
is shakey at best, when even Bill looks better than
her, you know something is wrong.

And please NO MORE BUSHES!

How about a joint merger? A Jeb-Hillary ticket for 2016?

To quote George F’n Will: “Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, and Clintons gotta run for political office.”

Hellery’s running, no question. And ya gotta question Matalin’s judgment — after all, she married Snakehead. And had children with him. Ew.

People call her a drunk and sick but do we even know? She did have a short period in her life where she was decent looking but that was a long time ago so being aged and ugly doesn’t mean she’s sick.

I can’t think of one positive accomplishment of her’s while she was SOS. Bet she doesn’t really want to run - she wants to be POTUS but doesn’t want the misery. Whoever comes after Obama will have hell to pay and if it’s a rat there will be too much ‘splainin’ to do. Heck, even Obama is campaigning against his record now.

If the push is for Bush on year from now, don’t be surprised if Chris Christie starts throwing rhetorical bombs and challenges in Jeb’s direction. By then, many of Chris’s mistakes and presumed ‘sins’ would look small and inconsequential. There is a certain segment of conservatives that will always dislike and resent Chris because of the appearance of disloyalty to Romney in 2012. Some will never, ever forgive that behavior.

What was actually accomplished during her time as our Sec of State? This woman would be a tough candidate, but only because the entire media will try to drag her across the finish line, not that she has a resume.

Mary Matalin: Hillary Won't Even Run
Now where have we heard that before??
Speaking of Dick Morris, he follows Rush on 1210 AM in Philadelphia; the program is not syndicated nationally but is about Philadelphia/NJ - in addition to national politics.
Listening to Rush is explicitly part of his show prep; he always teases his program before its start by referring in a collegial tone to something Rush said and promising his own critique of it. He is generally quite interesting.

He normally has a co-host, but the guy has had such a bad case of the flu that he’s been out for 3-4 weeks.

Christie may act the “tough guy” but I’m sure he knows better than to cross the Bush machine. That’s GOP 101.

I hope Mary Matalin’s words do not loosen our guard in regards to the Hildebeast. The Beast knows how to hide her true nature behind a facade of lovable bubbliness. She definitely knows when to play her hand.

That famed “Bush Machine” has been Out Of Commission for years. Just look at the last few big elections. They (the Bushes and their powerbrokers) are continuing to ignore the sincerity and more importantly the significance of the Tea Party, at their own peril, might I add. Just take a look at their ‘architect, aka Tokyo Rove. Not very relevant or useful these days, is he? That Machine is overdue for a tune-up and replacement of worn parts.

I just posted it FYI. I don’t believe it for a minute. If she had to campaign from an iron lung or a rolling hospital bed, she’d do so. Only death is going to keep her out of this. She’s wanted this since she was in law school. And if Bill dies in the meantime, watch the whole Democratic Party cast him as a martyr to the GOP who “hounded him to death” over Monica Lewinsky.

Democrats argue that the Repubicans (GOP? RINOs? whomever) are at war with women. But is Ms Matlin’s analysis of Hillary’s rumored plans for POTUS an indication that it is actually the Democrats who are at war with women, and that Democrats are unthnkingly projecting themselves into Republicans?

Or maybe this 5 cent psychiatrist ought to look for another job.

I saw them in action in 1987-88 at the Iowa caucuses. I was in a unique position. At night, I guarded then Vice President Bush’s aircraft and fleet of automobiles at the Air National Guard base and in the morning I worked for a rival Republican campaign. Don’t “misunderestimate” what they’re capable of. They have an army of Yuppies and country clubbers at their disposal and tons of cash.

Chelsea is delivering the keynote address at the SXSW Interactive conference in Austin, Texas, during the second weekend in March.

I can't imagine what she'll talk about. We already know how important the internet is. And how big social media is right now. The only thing left is for her tell me what I should be doing. Or to announce that either her, or mother—or both!—are running for office and how their campaign(s) will be "transformative" "revolutionary" and "game-changing" thanks their plan to do it all on the google-tubes.
