Ayotte to Boehner: Get over 'trust deficit'
The HIll ^ | 2/9/14 | Megan R. Wilson

GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.) on Sunday urged House Republicans to take up immigration reform, despite a “trust deficit” with President Obama.

“Here’s the deal: The status quo is totally unacceptable,” she said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” with Bob Schieffer.

“I think we should solve this. I think [Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio)] can find a way forward. Certainly, the bill that came out of the Senate was not perfect, but it was a good solution to a hard problem,” Ayotte continued. “I think it’s an important issue to solve – not only for the country, but for the Republican Party.”

The House should do it piecemeal. Step one, close off the border with an Israeli type fence. Step two? Start deporting. It might take 10 years, but do it!

Ayotte is living up to the meme, "An honest politician is one who stays bought."

Unfortunately, she needed to fake some TEA Party leanings to get elected.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HER.

The issue is not going to be fixed by adding new laws on top of plenty of existing laws, but rather to elect a Representative Administration that will follow their oath of office and enforce the already existing laws. That IS THE TRUST ISSUE KELLY.

NO MORE IMMIGRATION LAWS - AKA AMNESTY FOR MILLIONS OF UNDOCUMENTED RAT VOTERS.

Wake up and smell the roses Ms Ayotte.

The problem is a government which refuses to enforce the law, and politicians who offer enticements to break the law (DL, tuition, etc).

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

the trust deficit is caused by the lack of a trustWORTHY person in the WH

we will have a chance to “get over” the trust deficit, so-called, in 2016

I started out about half liking her when she was elected. Been hangout out with Lindsay and Juan too much. And her voice kinda gets on my nerves. I don’t know IF she has medical issues that cause it or what but I don’t even have to look at the tv to know when she is on.

This witch is a McCain clone. Palin should have never called this backstabbing wench a “Mama Grizzly”.

This is what happens when you hitch a wagon to Juan McLame.

Defeat Graham and McConnell and she and the other Vichy Senate GOPee will change their stripes. Do the same with Boehner and Lyin’ Ryan to reform the House.

Does Sen Ayotte actually believe that she is a leader?

The status quo is totally unacceptable because the USA does NOT enforce the laws already on the books.

Common sense says to stop the leak, then bail out the water at your leisure. We need to protect our borders, and then take our time to deal in a responsible and compassionate way, with the 20 million illegal aliens already here.

Ignoring the trust deficit will not make it go away. That is the same a burying your head in the sand, Sen. Ayotte, is it not?
