Cornyn Perfects Bait-And-Switch
westernjournalism.com ^ | 2/10/14 | B. Christopher Agee

Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman is taking on an establishment candidate in his state’s upcoming Senate primary race. He recently sat down for an exclusive interview with the Western Center for Journalism to explain the motivation behind trying to oust Sen. John Cornyn.

He explained there is ample evidence detailing his opponent’s insincerity toward his conservative base.

Cornyn has publicly stated “that he wants to be less controversial with Obama,” Stockman said. The senior senator from Texas has also set his sights on the state’s other senator, Tea Party-backed Ted Cruz.

According to Stockman, Cornyn “patronized” Cruz, saying that “he hopes he learned lessons from the government shutdown and kind of ridiculed him.”

Stockman’s most emphatic criticism, however, concerns Cornyn’s assertion that he “wants to work more closely with President Obama and be less controversial in the next three years.”

Such a platform of placation, he suggested, is a betrayal of those who voted for his opponent.

“I don’t view that as serving the people of Texas,” Stockman said, describing the duplicitous message as “genuinely dishonest.”

Cornyn was elected due to his supposed “conservative credentials,” Stockman said, indicating that his real intention is to “go back and do the exact opposite.”

In that regard, he added, his opponent is no different than the leftists with whom he ostensibly disagrees.

“In television,” Stockman explained, “I think we call that the bait-and-switch.”

He said Cornyn’s behavior is “what we’re getting from the president and some senators up there.”

As of this writing, Cornyn’s office has not responded to requests for comment.

You say that on almost every Cornyn thread. Are you trying to drive down the turn-out for his opponents?

Or are you just one of those depressive type people that can't help but spread it?

I've seen a lot of anger at Cornyn, and willingness to go to the polls and vote for either Stockman or Stovall.

There's a lot of doom and gloom disease going around these days. It's contagious, and those afflicted ought to be quarantined, as far as I'm concerned.

Recently, the San Antonio Express-News Editorial Board did an excellent job of stating why Senator Cornyn, and the rest of the GOP Establishment should NOT be supported at the ballot box, or financially, in TEXAS, or any other GOP-E Candidate anywhere else in America, when they wrote this quote:

” - - - We see, in Cornyn’s eventual public disavowal of using government shutdown as a tool to defund the Affordable Care Act, glimmers that the senator could be among those urging a return to more governance and less stymied government.

Mostly, we see no such glimmers among his opponents.

Cornyn is the clear choice for the GOP’s U.S. Senate nomination for Texas. - - - - “

____________

The newspaper has thus clearly defined why the GOP Establishment Philosophy is so vehemently opposed by the former members of THE SILENT MAJORITY, and their direct descendants, THE TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY PARTY.

The reason that the old GOP Establishment “go along to get along” Method, or as the paper put it: “ a return to more governance and less stymied government” is stymied is because a few Republicans such as Senators Cruz and Lee stood up and became our last line of defense against the forces of evil that want full, single payer, “universal,” Federal control of all of our remaining Liberties.

Since the newspaper has freely chosen the side that wants to crush our Liberties, by choosing to support the usual Cave-In Republican Candidate, we here at Free Republic should freely choose to oppose them.

_________________

Let us examine, for a moment, a partial list of what the ‘Austin-San Antonio Liberal Democrat Metroplex’ finds abhorrent about “ - - - using government shutdown as a tool to defund the Affordable Care Act - - - .”

Failure by Senator Cornyn and the rest of the GOP Establishment to defund Obamacare (ACA) has achieved the following:
* Creation of a Federal Monopoly that is above US Anti-Trust Laws;
* Put Politics above Country by appointing unelected, political people to make Obamacare decisions for us;
* Allowed incompetent Obamacare Leaders to do unpunished;
* Allow incompetent Contractors to go unpunished;
* Intimidated the, gullible, weak, cowardly, milquetoast Republican leadership, especially Speaker Boehner, and including Cornyn, from starting ANY subpoena-based investigations;
* Increased the National Poverty Debt;
* Increased the National Poverty Defeit;
* Decreased the National Workforce % to its lowest level in 35 years;
* Increased the Obama Labor Depression;
* Increased the taxpayer-funded ‘Obama Anti-Labor Subsidies in the form of “free” Obamacare;
* Increased the cost of Medical Insurance on all Americans;
* Forced Businesses to reduce the number of full time employees;
* Forced Businesses to reduce expanding their business operations;
* Forced Businesses to greatly reduce borrowing money from Private Banks;
* Deprived millions of American of their freedom of choice to keep their previous health insurance policies;
* And provided national and international hackers, criminals, the IRS and the Department of Gestapo Justice, ( DOGJ ), with all of the individual specific personal financial and medical information necessary to blackmail, extort, harm and/or control all Americans from now on.

____________________

Returning a GOP Establishment politician to office to always Cave In to the Democrats, is the same as voting in a Democrat politician in the first place.

A Republican in name only is just a Democrat spelled “RINO.”

______________________

A vote in the 2014 Primary and November Election to approve of ANY GOP Establishment US Senator or House of Representatives who opposed the defunding of Obama’s Affordable Care Act, is a vote to approve of the idea that we, the voters, are powerless against the combined might of Obama, the Democrats, and the Republicans whom we have voted to enslave us, our children, our Grandchildren, and all of their descendants in the Hell Hole of Communist Obamanation.

IF the 2014 Primary and Congressional election cycle is not the best time to vote out the candidates who are proven GOP Establishment Politicians, THEN when would that time be?

Tick-tock - - -

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but on a number of reports on FoxNews about Republican reaction to whatever nonsense Obama is up to, I keep seeing Cornyn as one of the Republican interviewees. If not him, Lady Lindsey.

They both have been on in the past, especially her Ladyship, but not to the extent recently. I think this is purposeful and has a political agenda behind it.

Screw the liberal San Antonio Express and News. I'm hoping that the Latina candidate in the Primary, Linda Vega, will pull a lot of votes from Cornyn in the heavily populated Hispanic city of San Antonio. And, with her being from Houston, I think she will run well among Hispanics there also. There are a lot of Hispanic voters in Texas. I pray that they will turn out for Linda Vega to help throw John Cornhole into a run-off election.

You asked for input; here’s mine. Stockman has been my Congressman both times he has served in Congress and I am NOT voting for him. If he makes the run-off, I will vote for him, but, the dude has a whole helluva lot of baggage. Not sure he could win the run-off against Cornyn.

You need to get that info to Steve Stockman. He has the ba**s to use that editorial endorsement against Cornhole. I’m not voting for Stockman, however. I’m going for either Dwayne Stovall or Linda Vega. But, the more damage Stockman can do to Cornhole, the better our chances of getting him into a run-off.

How can you be “locked in” to a commitment to vote for someone. Is there not a “clause” in your commitment that says you have the right to change your mind? Will your house be burned down if you don’t vote for Stockman?

To: QuisCustodiet1776: For the reasons you listed, I am voting for Linda Vega.... female with Hispanic surname.... very electable. Ted Cruz got just about all of the Hispanic vote in his election victory. People say she’s “soft” on immigration. I know this much, she is OPPOSED TO AMNESTY. Now, having said that.......

I know that some people will say those are piss-poor reasons for voting for a candidate (Hispanic and female). Well, I want someone who can win in a run-off with Cornhole and I believe she would generate a lot of excitement amongst the Primary voters. Besides, I would vote for a one-eyed crack whore if it would mean a defeat for John Cornyn.
