Hoyer predicts Democrats positioned to win back the House in 2014
CNN's Political Ticker ^ | February 10, 2014 | Deirdre Walsh, Sr. Congressional Producer

The second ranking House Democrat predicted his party was in good position to retake control of the House of Representatives in the 2014 midterm election.

House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer pointed to a fundraising advantage for Democrats, lower poll numbers for congressional Republicans, divisions inside the GOP ranks, and a good recruiting class of Democratic challengers, and said "all of those combined in my view give me great optimism that we're going to win back the House."

Democrats need to pick up 17 seats to regain the majority in the House, and most political handicappers say that with the narrow list of competitive congressional districts the odds are long that they can reach that goal.

In a session with reporters inside his Capitol Hill office on Monday, Hoyer noted that he made a similar prediction in 2006 that House Democrats would win control - one that many dismissed at the time - but he was proven right on election night that year....

He’s just trying to get his Donors not to completely give up on his caucus!

Luckily for us, blood sucking Vampires are a passing fad.

If Romney had just stuck with the 47% theme, he’d have had a chance with the 53% and maybe won over one or two individuals in the 47% with sheer logic and foresight.

It’s not as if we won’t be destroyed if we continue trying to work for the democrats to stay in power. I mean that is where our labor goes. And ever increasingly.

But Romney was chicken.

And that’s why he’s not in. A ndit’s why we’re probably fortunate. He’d have been like Boehner

I just read an article this afternoon about the Dems being mad at Hillary for putting her money into her campaign instead of into their pot so they can fight the Republicans.

They are afraid they are going to lose the House and the Senate.

Agreed. Does anyone here seriously think that having President Romney now and/or Majority Leader McConnell (OR WHOEVER) instead of 0bama and Reid redux would have made no difference in where we are today?!

And, agreed that we need to be prepared. It's crucial to not put all our eggs in the 0bamacare basket, as big as that basket is. There's plenty more that needs to be addressed...say, foreign policy, for starters...and it's going to take the whole big picture plus some good campaign strategists to successfully counteract the Dem's tactics which are as you say...(IMHO)

Whistling in the graveyard, Steny. Want to put a little money on it?

Two plausible reasons for any such “maybe” possibility: vote fraud and GOP-e complicity.

Steny must have broken his promise not to smoke weed with Obama again.

He knows darn well he’s only a lightweight when it comes to keeping up with The Big Choomer.

And I'm sure he made a similar prediction in 2010, but that didn't turn out too well for the 'Rats, so he's not talking about it.

He knows they will use massive voter fraud like they did with obama.

No doubt. I'll never forget the look on Barry's face when all 4 networks called the election for the former Baskin Robbins associate. He was the most surprised of anyone. . . what a sham

If he's already received the election vote tallies, he should release them.

Nothing would surprise me.

We are the normal people on The Walking Dead. The Zombies outnumber us, despite the myth that this Country is more Conservative than Liberal. The Proof is in the Pudding.

As soon as Obama was Reelected, I knew the end was near. The majority of the American Voters are clueless wonders and they will herald the death knell of Liberty.

Despite that, I will hold on to my fantasy that people will wake up, but at this point in time it seems that the Regime gets away with anything they set their mind to. There is no outcry, which only proves that Cloward-Piven has worked its magic.

They Live, and we’re the only ones wearing the Sunglasses.

I could just be in a bad mood and in actuality everything is really peachy. You never know...

On top of what you just opined, I marvel at the gross cognitive dissonance of so many people who just assume that the next election will ‘save’ us.

Are the vast majority of Americans so naive and stupid as to believe that our election system from this point out is going to be honest?? That if we all wake up and cast votes that the MarxoFascists are just going to walk away from their glorious coup like some beaten Republican wimp and concede defeat and let their choice of Representatives set policy that counters their overthrow of the Republic??

If so, we have a terminal case of Normalcy Bias, and it’s at stage 4.
