Liberal columnist 'getting sick' of defending Obamacare
American Thinker ^ | 02/11/2014 | Rick Moran

Ron Fournier, one of Obamacare's staunchest defenders, wants us to know he is "getting sick" of defending the law, writing that it was "getting difficult and slinking toward impossible" to advocate for it.

National Journal:

For the second time in a year, certain businesses were given more time before being forced to offer health insurance to most of their full-time workers. Employers with 50 to 99 workers were given until 2016 to comply, two years longer than required by law. During a yearlong grace period, larger companies will be required to insure fewer employees than spelled out in the law.

Not coincidentally, the delays punt implementation beyond congressional elections in November, which raises the first problem with defending Obamacare: The White House has politicized its signature policy.

The win-at-all-cost mentality helped create a culture in which a partisan-line vote was deemed sufficient for passing transcendent legislation. It spurred advisers to develop a dishonest talking point-"If you like your health plan, you'll be able to keep your health plan." And political expediency led Obama to repeat the line, over and over and over again, when he knew, or should have known, it was false.

Defending the ACA became painfully harder when online insurance markets were launched from a multibillion-dollar website that didn't work, when autopsies on the administration's actions revealed an epidemic of incompetence that began in the Oval Office and ended with no accountability.

Then officials started fudging numbers and massaging facts to promote implementation, nothing illegal or even extraordinary for this era of spin. But they did more damage to the credibility of ACA advocates.

Psst... Hey Ron Fournier, have you seen this:

Employer Mandate Delay VOID If You Fire Workers/Cut Hours

Ain't tyranny grand, Ron? And just think -- you voted for it all.

Evidently, Mr. Ron Fournier has yet to figure out that no matter how hard one tries, one cannot defend the indefensible. It must really suck to be him.

Honestly... where DID “O” supporters THINK this would all end?

You back a lame horse and spend the rest of your natural life making excuses for why he can’t win!?

Really!

Settling for mediocrity will invariably DO this to you! There’s a lot to be said for picking the best man for the job, expecting excellence and VETTING candidates!!!

GET IT?

Who did YOU vote for in 2008 and in 2012, Mr. Fournier? And just who made it among their life's mission to promote Barack Obama via advocacy journalism, Mr. Fournier?

Don't tell me your eyes are suddenly open to the tyranny of Obama, Holder, and Jarret. Funny how when the alligator starts nipping at your feet you start to whistle a different tune.

What did you write when Obama and Democrats rammed this law down our throats with NO Republican support and used all types of illegal political payoffs to get Obamacare passed? Why didn't you and your Journ-O-Lists howl then. You know if Bush and the Republicans had done something similar you and your buddies would have screamed bloody murder.

Ron Fournier, Obamacare was wholly enabled by YOU and your corrupt media brethren.

Voted for it? He PROMOTED it! Lots of people are going to lose everything they own either because they have no coverage (because the policies they could afford were cancelled) or because they have no jobs and this guy is one of the people who are at fault.

Sleep while you can Ron, someday you will be afraid to close your eyes.

This fournier creep needs to crawl across the US covered in ashes and dressed in sackcloth (and beg for forgiveness) before he is even slightly forgiven for promoting nobamacare.

Poor Ronnie is just job-locked, and he doesn't realize it yet.

Ronnie, you don't have to keep defending the indefensible law, just quit. You feel trapped in your job; free yourself from those shackles, and stop writing for a living. Stop with the endless need to come up with excuses. You don't need to work for healthcare benefits, that's what Obamacare will get you.

One definition of Fascism being private ownership but controlled by the state. Now thanks to Republican "leadership", The United States is now a Fascist Nation. Even in the minority, things could have been done to prevent this. Just a few months ago when a filibuster could have accomplished a lot, only two (2) Senators, with no leadership support, stood up. The House? The House has had a Republican majority for three of Obama’s five years.
Leadership in both houses have been way too cowed to even verbally oppose Obama.

Fournier says he's "getting sick" of defending ObamaCare.

GETTING sick?

Is that like being a little bit pregnant?

What's it gonna take for you to be TOTALLY sick, TOTALLY fed up?

You're a weasely little journalista toadie....we're not deceived.....we know very well that your pathetic musings about your emperor are written more in sorrow than in anger.

Heal thyself.

It's not a question of "Obama-loathing conservatives" who are disgusted, it's also level-headed commenters and pundits who are sounding the alarm about Obama's executive power grabs.

Hey Mr. Ron Fournier - even the A-listers don't like it. It's so bad even the toadies are catching on...

ObamaCare is nothing more than a transition period to Single Payer....That’s the reason their proponents really don’t care what’s in it. The mission has been accomplished, the final barriers to Single Payer have been removed.

Obama Supporters (not to be confused with Athletic Supporters) do NOT think, to begin with.

The ONLY thing that they are interested in is the FREE SH*T that they hope will be dumped in their laps.

Remember, these “people” are PARASITES, first and foremost.

Now, quit complaining and get back to WORK so they can get their FREE SH*T at your expense.

I wouldn’t be so quick to jump to that conclusion. There’s no way that a GOP Congress, or even a lot of Dems from Red and Purple states, will support single payer. Now, and probably for at least the next 20-30 years.

Obamacare is a real watershed in American politics. It wont just fall apart, itll drag any sort of confidence in big government solutions down with it.

If Conservatives can leverage it correctly it’ll swing the ideological pendulum back to limited and small government rather nicely. Actually it may do that of it’s own accord. But the pendulum is pretty much stopped at this point. Any further movement to the Left will be slight and defined by what Obama thinks he can unilaterally get away with.

Leadership in both houses have been way too cowed to even verbally oppose Obama.

I do not think they were cowed at all. The GOPe leadership believes in about 95% of the Democrat agenda. They believe they are smarter than us and they are better than us. They truely believe they have not only the brains but the right to tell us how to live our lives and that being subserviant to them.

The GOPe think they are kings and we should all be groveling at their feet begging them for any scrap they deign to toss to us. They are the scum of the Earth.
