Obama is having a grand old time with his socialist buddy President Francois Hollande of France on his visit, and for the first time ever, Americans will get a view of just how much a State dinner costs them. It took thirteen months for the State Department to respond to the request for the costs of such dinners, but here they are! CBS News has obtained the Office of Protocol’s expense calculations for the first five state dinners of the Obama presidency. Nov. 24, 2009 – State dinner for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India. $572,187.36 May 19, 2010 – State dinner for President

John McLaughlin made his prediction on Sunday. Michelle Obama will be in the top ten group of first ladies, history will show.

she’s spending the heck out of our kids’ inheritance to reap whatever she thinks (feels) we owe her.

The media are heartless people. I mean that is cold.

Why the people put up with this crap from any president is beyond comprehention.

But, for the white house to send out a picture of two dogs sitting at a table with expensive china and jewelry around their necks should be enough to make people storm the place. Yet you won’t hear one republican complain about it. And why blacks put up with this shit I’ll never know. Just plain damned stupidity, I guess.

Why do you think the Media loves him so much???

In DC, careers get MADE at these parties. Social status for the fat and wealthy is determined by the number of invites you get to these. One of the major reasons the press hated Bush is because he held only one or two of these big parties a year.

It’s like an Ancient King’s Court.

Bush knew what these parties were, and refused to play the game. GOD, how they hated him for it.

Duh, what we need is a separate White House budget that gets cut 2 % each time Obama sends out an Executive Order.

Do you think that “Doormat” Boehner has brass ones large enough to enforce it?

The best thing that could happen to Boehner is he gets removed as speaker.

The voters in Boehner’s Ohio House District vote Boehner into the US House, and the US House Members vote to choose THEIR Speaker.

Weak, cowardly, permissive “Doormat” Boehner thus fairly represents our weak, cowardly, permissive, doormat RINOs.

The voters in Ohio are simply overjoyed that the US House RINO Members have loyally continued to keep in place a weak, cowardly, permissive, doormat Speaker who has ALWAYS caved in to Obama.

Boehner’s Speakership is safe, as our House RINOs just love to Cave In to Commies, Socialists, Democrats, and especially to Obama.

Oops, I feel a “Boehner” coming on! Please pass the Kleenex! Sob!

It is always good to be a stick in the mud, helps maintain some sense of reason...

The problem as I see it right now is that this administration is not being even remotely sensitive to the plight of the average American (not welfare queens and dregs) who has lost their employment, home, etc.

These kinds of things have been going on for years, but when you add in the numerous unneccessary traveling, vacations, etc., this is just more salt in the wounds...

The USA is broke, actually, beyond broke...these kinds of things need to be eliminated until we’re back to some level of fiscal balance...

Here's the official menu.

Courtesy of The White House - State Dinner menu 2014

And an in-depth description of each course, via The White House:

The First Course, American Osetra Caviar, farmed from the estuaries of Illinois, is paired with quail eggs from Pennsylvania and twelve varieties of potatoes from farms in New York, Idaho, and California.

The Salad Course is petite mixed radish and baby carrots, served on a bed of merlot lettuce with a red wine vinaigrette. The Winter Garden Salad pays tribute to The First Lady’s White House Kitchen Garden. Even when covered with snow, the winter vegetables in the White House Kitchen Garden continue to thrive, and little hints of spring are already starting to sprout.

The Main Course, Dry-aged Rib Eye Beef, is sourced from a family owned farm in Greeley, Colorado and served with a Jasper Hill Farm Blue Cheese crisp from Greensborough, Vermont.

The dessert is a celebration of American traditions and produce. The Chocolate Malted Cake is a modern version of an all- American layer cake presented in a geometric form. This dish combines bittersweet chocolate from Hawaii, tangerines from Florida, and is served à la mode with vanilla ice cream from Pennsylvania.

After dinner, guests can enjoy fudge made from Vermont maple syrup, lavender shortbread cookies, and cotton candy dusted with orange zest.

BONUS: Bo and Sunny Obama are excited for the meal, too. Post by The White House.

Article I, section 9: “No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law; and a regular statement and account of receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time.”

I presume, therefore, that the GOP majority in the House of Representatives has consented (again and again) to these expenditures?

No idea how it compares to Bush. It would be more interesting to compare it to the Clinton donor “Breakfasts”.

I’m curious as to why there is a $350,000 difference between the dinner for Merkel and the dinner for the president of India? More people invited? Entertainment? Did they roast an elephant or something?

These pretenders love to grouse about the rich and the plight about the poor all the while immersing themselves in obscene opulence. This is just another in seemingly endless list of things they are given a pass on by his media cheerleaders. These creeps are going to miss the trappings of the White House more than any former administration has in modern history.

John LeCarre writes, in “Absolute Friends” : “There is nothing in the Communist Manifesto that forbids a little luxury to those who have deserved it.”

And if a little luxury is good, then a lot must be better. And who, if not The One and The Mrs., have not truly earned it?

Here’s the question you might want to ponder.

What was the debt during the Bush years? 17 TRILLION? NO

Oh, and btw, what was the unemployment during the Bush years? 7.1% fake number?? NO

C’mon, you are comparing apples to oranges.

In fairness, state dinners are part of diplomacy, and doing them half-@ssed makes the country look bad. Barky has committed numerous offenses against liberty, economy, and decency, but opulent state dinners per se aren’t among them.
