Ted Cruz, Rand Paul top huge Tea Party poll; Chris Christie, Jeb Bush dead last
Washington Examiner ^ | February 11, 2014 | Paul Bedard

Conservative Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul top the biggest Tea Party presidential poll yet, while moderates New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are dumped at the bottom, undermining their hopes of being 2016 crossover candidates.

The online poll of 62,000 grassroots activists provided exclusively to Secrets finds that conservatives and Tea Party organizers stand fully behind the heroes of their movement, including outspoken surgeon Ben Carson, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and 2008 vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

if Paul and Cruz maintain the top two positions throughout the Primaries, and both acquiring well over 50% of the votes, we can pretty much see a cruz/paul ticket, you can assume that they will likely be keeping a deal where whoever wins, the other is VP. but they also need to keep West as the next Secretary of Defense.

“Well at least ONE of the top two is constitutionally eligible to be president or vice president.”

Bingo.

They both should run. Obama and Harper will be gone soon.

Well at least ONE of the top two was born in America.

You DON'T have to be born in America to be an American citizen. You have to be born to an American citizen. This has been hashed over many times.

Top 5 all look good to me, but I’ve been thinking Walker may be the best bet. He’s shown he’s willing to stick to tough decisions in the face of overwhelming criticism. Plus he’s a governor so he has executive leadership.

Steve King (R-IA) is every bit as solid as any of them.

I tried to take their “poll” a few times during the recent weeks. IMHO, their head-to-head format is flawed. Why make me choose between John Huntsman and Jeb Bush? Or, Condoleeza Rice and Chrispy Chreme?

Many Christians, like myself, won’t vote for Huckabee. He’s a rino backer. We also have low info voters. They believe everything the rnc says, so ignorantly vote for rinos.

I cannot believe that people here refuse to believe that a WOMAN candidate (ANY woman on either side) will not draw a substantial portion of female voters.

I know several women who have stated they have never voted but would go out and vote if a woman ran (they did not care which party)

If it was HilLIARy against any man, she will win.

If it is HilLIARy against Palin, Palin will win in a landslide.

Ted Cruz is one of a handful of elected officials who actually remained true to his conservative principles and values once elected. It amazes me how willing he is to stand for what is right and good in America. A true champion of the American people. I hope he runs in 2016.
