When I’m in the area, I visit the Cabela’s in Hamburg, PA. (NEVER on weekends - it’s way too crowded)

I’ve been wearing Cabela’s canvas shirts and cargo pants for years. They wear like iron, and are very comfortable. A little more expensive than other “Big Box” brands, but they last a lot longer.

Cabela’s stands up for our 2nd Amendment Rights, as well, so they get my business.

This was one of the stores that was supposed to anchor the Xanadu mall in the NJ Meadowlands; a strange choice, given that the area is filled with fish you can’t eat and animals we can’t hunt. Probably explains why the mall never opened (and construction was finished years ago). Definitely a good store, though a bit pricey for me...

For many months of the year, I am there practically every weekend buying something. The fact that they stand up for 2A rights makes me a loyal customer.

Fort Oglethorpe is barely within Georgia. It is more like a suburb of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Meanwhile in Bristol TN/VA, Cabala’s is losing the race.

At the TN/VA line, Bass Pro Shop has completed the very large earth moving project and has steel erected and construction well underway.

Roughly 6 miles up I 81 on the Virginia side Cabela is still mired down in rock. They bought a large site that was essentially a solid rock inverted cone. We call them short hills but they are solid rock protrusions. They are slowly, over a year now, eating away at the solid hill and depositing it in a low area. They are balancing the solid rock cut with pure rock fill. I shudder when I think of the costs.

The reason Bristol is favored with Both stores is the Bristol Speedway. Tens of thousands of race fans come to stay several days per years. NASCAR and the out of doors are a match made in retail heaven

Ft. Ogelthorpe GA is a suburb of Chattanooga TN. Wish they’d come closer to Atlanta.

Cabelas had bought a parcel of ground just south of Indy and had even began groundwork but them canceled the project. That was about 3 years or so. I don’t know why.

I’m so jazzed that our new store is only a mile East of us, over the hill.

Funny that I have to drive 7 miles to get to it on paved roads.

I believe Bass Pro Shops is constructing a store north of Atlanta in Cartersville Ga. I hope that helps you, even though it isn’t a Cabela’s.

I've bought a number of shirts there. Henley's, t-necks, mock t-necks, all GOOD quality. Maybe a little higher in price than some places, but the quality is worth it. I just wait till the stuff is on sale.

They also carry larger sizes like 2xlt and 3xlt.

You can get CCI primers for $29.99....and if you have the Cabela’s Black Visa card, you get an automatic 5% discount. And on top of that there are discounts from coupons which they periodically send out.

People who say Cabela’s is too expensive simply do not know how to sop there.

I wish (and have told them this) that they’d build one here in the (Tampa) Bay area in FL. I used to live in Harrisburg, worked right across the street from the (then) latest Bass Pro and would walk over almost every day at lunch. IT WAS NOTHING in comparison to the Hamburg store and when I had gift bucks or money saved I always went to the Hamburg store. Far superior. I’ve been to the Orlando Bass Pro and it is a faint replicaton of Cabela’s. Bass Pro was a good outdoor store but Cabela’s is an adventure!

I am surprised they are not located in Florida yet with so many people, and especially so many Pro-2A people.

Bass Pro has several stores in Atlanta Metro. One in Gwinnett County near me. I would prefer to shop Cabellas locally.
