Editorial: We recommend Bush in GOP race for land commissioner ("minimally experienced")
Dallas Morning News ^ | 2/11/14 | Editorial Board

As Texas land commissioner, Jerry Patterson was a staunchly conservative, hard-charging powerhouse. We didn’t always agree with him, but he commanded respect. Too bad, now that he’s running for lieutenant governor, the GOP primary doesn’t boast a candidate of similar caliber. Voters must choose between the minimally experienced George P. Bush and his tea party opponent, David Watts. In this race, Bush is the better choice.

The 37-year-old energy consultant no doubt benefits from his family’s political dynasty. But Bush told us that, while he respects his family, his persuasiveness on the campaign trail is what will sway voters toward him.

Although his answers sometimes reflect a lack of depth, we like others, such as his ideas for bringing in third-party auditors to ensure that the General Land Office is running as efficiently as it can, especially in regard to the administration of Veterans Land Board programs.

The job would stretch Bush’s management background. The General Land Office has 620 staffers, oversees veterans housing and manages millions of acres of state holdings.

It’s also clear by this editorial the Dallas newspaper will endorse the democrat in the general election.

George P is definitely following the Obama playbook of racial pandering and a fawning media to cover up his utter lack of any type of leadership and real world experience.

“It’s also clear by this editorial the Dallas newspaper will endorse the democrat in the general election.”

Editorial not needed.

It’s a paper from your typically corrupt liberal MSM.

No education, journalism degrees, and a computer terminal.

Of COURSE they’ll endorse the dim-bulb-crat.

I thought it was parody ad at first, couldn't be real, had to be from his opponent.

This is the insanity that the Revolution was supposed to end, dynastic rule is repulsive. Somebody needs to show some restraint and recognize that life is unfair and sometimes you’re family name can bar you from some occupations.

Does he REALLY think people are that dumb?”

According to some fellow Republicans they are voting for Bush and the fact that he is not qualified has absolutely nothing to do with it. Yes, they really are that dumb.

In America the unqualified gravitate toward politics to learn their management skills.

Just look around and tally up how many of our sorry “Professional Politicians” have never had to:
*work for a private company
* meet a payroll deadline,
*supervise more that 7 people,
*fire an employee,
*or save more than a year of their salary.

B. Hussein Soetoro-Obama was chosen by the Democrat voter BECAUSE he had NO management skills, and HE BUILT OBAMACARE.

We, the taxpayers, have paid for the “on the job training” of the politicians we choose how to spend our tax money that WE work for.

Yeah, shame on the politicians and all that chest-beating, but remember that WE were the ones who put them in power in the first place!

GPB is asking us to pay for his “on the job training.”

WE should be asking him to first GET A PRIVATE JOB first.

BTW, Mrs. Bill Clinton, “The most admired Woman in America,” in one of her early jobs was fired by her boss for lying, among other things, when she was a Lawyer at the Watergate Scandal Hearings.

Get a REAL job Georgie P., get a job!

Georgie P, come back when you have a solid resume’ proving that you are worthy of spending our hard-earned tax dollars, and we will then have a “chat.”
