Police: Johnson City pharmacist charged with attempted murder after injecting relative with medicine

Police said a Johnson City man injected a relative with medicine, resulting in his arrest on an attempted murder charge.

Lee Scott Renfro, 51, 15 South Hills Circle, was arrested after police were called to Johnson City Medial Center on an medical investigation about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The staff told police a patient had possibly been injected with an unknown substance by a family member. The investigation indicated the Renfro had injected the victim, Martha Renfro, with an unknown quantity of medicine. She had been treated for the past several weeks for an unknown condition that required her to be hospitalized on three different occasions.

I’m thinking the relative is not a very competent pharmacist, or the charge would be murder, not attempted murder.

So is this a chilling effect to stop people from unconventional therapies like intravenous injection of massive doses of vitamin C etc...?

There are, let us say, rumors of informal agreements among a few medical personnel that have the access and opportunity to perform euthanasia for each other. A couple of squirts in an IV can prevent a horrible, painful, lingering death. Rumors, whispers, you understand. Compassion or murder? Was this the situation in this case that seems to have been botched.

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - A Johnson City man was arrested for attempted first-degree murder Wednesday after he allegedly injected his wife with a drug commonly prescribed to diabetes patients, according to District Attorney General Tony Clark.

According to a police report, Lee Scott Renfro, 51, of 15 South Hills Circle, allegedly injected his wife, Martha Renfro, with Victoza, a diabetes drug that she was not prescribed.

Police were called to Johnson City Medical Center around 3 a.m. Wednesday to investigate the allegations from a nurse who claimed that he was walking by the room and saw Martha jump and then saw her blood pressure increase.
