Obama Is President Calvinball (Good read)
A Pocket Full Of Liberty ^ | January 15, 2014 | Jay Caruso

Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic strip of all time. The adventures of Calvin and his stuffed animal Hobbes (that comes alive when nobody else is around) were just classic.

A game the two played often was called ‘Calvinball.’ The central premise behind that game is that rules are made up as you go along.

Ironically, that is the central premise of how Barack Obama operates as President of the United States.

For a man who so badly wanted to be President, he seems to hate the job. It’s almost as if he imagined he would take office and have to do nothing other than say, “I’d like to do this” and it would magically happen.

[snip]Once the President realized people were not going to agree with him simply because he existed and it would take a lot of time sitting around tables with the lessers talking and negotiating, he decided, “Screw it. I’ll just do what I want.”

As such, one of the phrases that has come to define this administration was born:

“If Congress doesn’t act, I will.”

Calvin & Hobbs was cute and funny and whimsical. Øbozo is ugly and disgusting and repellent.

Provided Susie Derkins is the House Speaker I’d go along with that, though I might be slightly more inclined if you swapped the two on the ticket.. Hobbes sometimes demonstrated a bit more wisdom.

There is something special about Calvin and Hobbes. I really miss the strip. It’s like... my lost youth. Meanwhile Obama rides herd over my lost nation.

“If Congress doesn’t act, I will.”

I love that one. He doesn’t get that their inaction is a very deliberate act. IOW, he just wants them to do what he sez. That only works in banana republics.

Actually I view the POS as more closely resembling President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho of Idiocracy fame.

Calvinball was fine for a great comic strip, but when a President plays it, it’s called a dictatorship.
