That is the exact thought which came to my mind when I first saw this story. For this, we spent untold American lives and treasure?

I’ve been to Belgium many times and the folks in the Ardennes are very grateful to all Americans for being liberated from the Nazis, which made my saying that very hard to do. I guess it shows what happens with the WWII generation dying away and young folks not knowing what Hitler and his Nazi’s stood for.

Even if this weren’t morally problematic in itself, seriously, once the patients get young enough, how do you get informed consent on something like this? I mean, the doctor can sign off on it, but even if there’s no mischief there, how sure can you be that the kid fully gets it?
