U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after voting against raising the debt ceiling.

“After five years of out-of-control White House spending, including a jobless, trillion-dollar stimulus, now is hardly the time to give the President carte blanche to continue his spending spree. I voted against raising the debt ceiling because we need sensible reforms to cut down on spending and restrain Washington going forward.”

What bugs me is his arrogance.

Meaning, the sum bitch actually thinks this Texan is so stupid that he would not understand the meaning of “that other vote” when viewed up along side this one.

Arrogance!

The corruption and deceit in Congress, and our betrayal by the Republicans, hardly warrants my attention these days, but isn’t this one of the weasels who voted FOR the law by voting for cloture - which would assure its passage later, and then - to impress his low-info constituents that he’s really on their side - voted AGAINST the law in the actual done-deal vote.

Have I got that right?

The book, Extortion, will tell you all you ever need to know to realize that DC is a cesspool that needs draining, and I’m frankly way beyond caring the means by which it is drained.

Don't take it personally. He was reaching out to all the Texans who have been putting him into one office or another since 1990.

After, of course. Just like he did for Amnesty and Obamacare funding.

He doesn’t have to fool all of you. He only needs to fool slightly more than half. Senator Cornyn may be a covert, big government spender, but he’s not apparently an idiot. What do you expect him to do? Do you think he’d actually admit he likes spending money we don’t have? No. He probably wants to be reelected.

What are Texans like you going to do to about it? That’s the question that really matters.

Set a clock Cornyn.

If it weren’t for the junior senator of TEXAS, Ted Cruz, the senior senator’s re-election path would be the usual, business-as-usual. You know, campaign in the weeds of the Right, serve and govern 24/7 on the socialist Left.

Conservatives are useful tools to Cornyn victories, but now Cruz has shamed him, mocked him, exposed him albeit not directly, but listen to him on RINOS. Cornyn has to be squealing like a scalded piglit in private.

Set a clock Cornyn. Yes, the old bait then switch has been perfected.

It’s true, Texans don’t understand what cloture means.
