The First, Legal Gay Marriage In Texas?

NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – Judge Carl Ginsberg presided over two ceremonies its participants believe are the first, legal gay marriage in Texas.

Two couples said their “I-do’s” and all four people consider themselves female. But one member of each couple has had their gender changed surgically from male to female.

“On all of my information, it still says male,” said Ashely Boucher. “So, legally I’m still male in the state of Texas. My presentation would suggest otherwise. But my documentation says that I can marry Genevieve no questions asked.

“If you were born male and became female through being transgendered or having a gender reassignment surgery, they consider you to be biologically male,” said UTA political science professor Thomas Marshall.

So he was a woman trapped in a man’s body, but he (it?) was a lesbian?

As a side note to the issue addressed by this thread, please consider the following. I have never read the Texas constitution, but the article below indicates that the Texas constitution has been amended to prohibit gay marriages.
"A federal court in San Antonio will hear arguments Wednesday in a case challenging the legitimacy of Texas’ constitutional ban on same-sex marriage." --Same-Sex Marriage Advocates Battle in Court

But there is no question that this state constitutional ban on gay marriage is legitimate imo. More specifically, the states have never amended the federal Constitution to protect so-called gay "rights." So regardless that pro-gay activist judges are wrongly legislating gay rights from the bench, the states are free to make laws which discriminate against such rights, as long as such laws don't also unreasonably abridge constitutionally enumerated rights.

The main reason that activist judges are getting away with doing these things, imo, is because parents have not been making sure that their children are being taught about not only 10th Amendment-protected state powers, but also the differences between legislative, executive and judicial government powers.

He was born male and he did NOT change his sex by medical procedures or assertion. He still has a y-chromosome and he is still male. He is a sham female or a wannabe female but he is not a female.

And then what? What will the homosexuals demand next? You know they won’t be satisfied with just “marriage”.

I think we need a state with a conservative legislature and governor (are there any like this now?) to pass a definition in law of marriage—that HAS IN THE STATUTE that the “jurisdiction of the courts does not extend to review” this statute.

In theory it could work at the federal level (Meese brought this up first on another issue), but it would be interesting to see it tested at the state level. If states can defy federal statutes on marijuana use, why not over marriage—which the federal government has—historically—no jurisdiction over?

In reality it will take the US Supremes to decide this, but I don’t see this court producing a definition of marriage—either way (to include gays or not)—since their last decision defeating the federal defense of marriage act clause, left the part where states are acknowledged to define marriage, intact.

Its ironic, hedonists promoted the idea that marriage is unnecessary for heterosexuals. Shacking up is encouraged. Marriage they said is just a piece of paper and doesn't mean anything.

Now two men want to marry...wth!

As someone said on one of these threads, and is almost true now in Massachusetts, the sodomy-lobby won’t be happy until every 12 year old boy in school has a homosexual adult “tutor...”

Utterly nauseating, but, I think, true.

Sodom wasn’t wiped out by God for nothing.

Exactly. You can call it what you want, but you have to change the definition of the word to call it marriage in my book.

I’ve noticed that there are a LOT of guys who are transgender females, who also like females and consider themselves lesbians.

What it means is that they “think” they have feminine characteristics, which I protest is merely their own male stereotype of what a woman is. So, for example, a guy who really wants to wear a dress thinks they must be female, even though I know a lot of women who never want to wear a dress.

But they fall for the stereotype, can’t believe that a “man” would have “feminine” characteristics (even though most men do, some of us a lot more than others), and therefore feel they would fit in better as a “female”.

I always identified with women, I was comfortable talking with the women, and I’m confident in my own “masculinity” that I never thought I should change sexes just because I cry at a sappy movie.

And it used to be a competent psychiatrist would help a confused man realize that he could have more of a “female” approach to thought processes, but still be a man. But nowadays, that would be “denying” the truth, and so men are getting pushed into becoming transgender women.

The funny part is when they start talking about whether they will actually use surgery, when they clearly are enjoying normal sexual activity — in part because the other transgenders really ostracize transgenders who still do normal sex, like they are “fake”.

Nice try, idiots. That’s not truly a Same-sex marriage. I could consider myself to be a dog. I could get myself a doghouse, a collar, and chew toys and yet my DNA will still reveal me to be what I am—a human female.

So it is a man and a woman. Just because you’re a freak doesn’t change your gender.

No it’s not, it’s a sham (because this shouldn’t be allowed), but this relationship is between a man and another man who has emasculated themselves.

I haven’t walked in a gay person’s shoes—and I don’t judge them.

That is God’s realm.

I do feel sorry for them, though.

No, it’s perfectly legit. This isn’t a dude and an emasculated dude, it’s between a chick and a dude that thinks he’s a chick. He got his weiner chopped but it’s still an XX / XY marriage.

Judge Carl Ginsberg in not a Christian. This is what happens when non-Christians are in charge.

The next legal challenge is “I was a legal man when we married and now I am legally female married to a female, make same-sex married so we’re still in accordance with the law”.
