If you didnt know who T.J. Oshie was before today, odds are you heard his name chanted at least once since 10 a.m. After the St. Louis Blues forward scored the clinch goal for Team USA in an Olympic hockey match against Russia in a never-ending shootout, Oshie has quickly become everyones new favorite player. He even gained nearly 50,000 new Twitter followers after leading his team to victory.
But, hes not only talented. Hes humble. Heres what Pittsburgh Tribune-Reviews Dejan Kovacevic posted on Twitter following the exciting game:
Just had good talk with America's newest hero. Only don't call T.J. Oshie that. "The American heroes are wearing camo. That's not me." #USA

What TV show is that from?
It’s from the current movie, Lone Survivor, based on the book of the same name by SEAL Marcus Luttrell.
He is the newest Olympic hockey player of eight such Olympians from tiny Warhouse, MN on the Canadian border. They have done a great job of motivating their young men, as opposed to our whining speed skaters, whose coaches should be axed after their lack of a single medal. They blamed UnderArmor’s suits, until someone pointed out that the Dutch team, winners of several medals, also wore those suits.
That would be “Warroad, MN” rather than “Warhouse”.
50,000 followers is now 120,000 followers.
Watching USA vs Slovenia now.
Good game. Good thread. BUMP!
4-0; USA is ahead at the end of second period.
Yeah I heard that. She couldn’t wait to inject Obama’s name into the conversation, either.
I would have said “He looks the type who votes republican. You know, a man?”
TJ is an awesome dude.
