No, global warming did NOT cause the storms, says one of the Met Office's most senior experts
The Mail ^ | 16 February 2014 | David Rose

One of the Met Office’s most senior experts yesterday made a dramatic intervention in the climate change debate by insisting there is no link between the storms that have battered Britain and global warming.

Mat Collins, a Professor in climate systems at Exeter University, said the storms have been driven by the jet stream – the high-speed current of air that girdles the globe – which has been ‘stuck’ further south than usual.

Professor Collins told The Mail on Sunday: ‘There is no evidence that global warming can cause the jet stream to get stuck in the way it has this winter. If this is due to climate change, it is outside our knowledge.’

His statement carries particular significance because he is an internationally acknowledged expert on climate computer models and forecasts, and his university post is jointly funded by the Met Office.

Prof Collins is also a senior adviser – a ‘co-ordinating lead author’ – for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). His statement appears to contradict Met Office chief scientist Dame Julia Slingo.

Last weekend, she said ‘all the evidence suggests that climate change has a role to play’ in the storms.

The President said that if you like your climate change you can keep your climate change, meanwhile he intends to ask Congress for a Billion dollars to disprove p*ssing into the wind will result in wet legs.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

If I've learned one thing from watching the Disney Channel™, it's that you can go anywhere in your imagination.

If everyone understood how the sun works....they would pray to the sun not to kill us, instead of worrying about warm light bulbs.

I’m only 60 and I have seen winters like this come along several times since I was 5 years old. We need to pump all the CO2 out of the earth’s atmosphere and stablize the climate forever. With no CO2 all the bitching by the Global warming alarmists would cease! Let’s do it now.

"This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow, and our planet began to heal.

Welcome King Barack "Canute" Obama the Great.....

...Obama issues an Executive Order to the Sun...

....to increase it's magnetic field....

and make a good crop of sunspots before elections in 2016....

(PhysOrg.com) -- Sunspot formation is triggered by a magnetic field, which scientists say is steadily declining. They predict that by 2016 there may be no remaining sunspots, and the sun may stay spotless for several decades.

The last time the sunspots disappeared altogether was in the 17th and 18th century, and coincided with a lengthy cool period on the planet known as the Little Ice Age....and lasted 400 years.

Good luck surviving with no electricity and GE modified seeds.

If you search around the internet, you’ll eventually come up on a figure that says 10,233,347,087 km^3 of ‘air’ [what makes up our atmosphere] surrounds the earth.

10.233 TRILLION CUBIC KILOMETERS of AIR. For anyone to assert man’s activities produce more than, say, volcanos and other natural effects and to further asset that it affects the sun’s influence on our planet and meaningfully exerts undue influence on that scale of volume is positively arrogant on the one hand and ludicrous on the other.

Look - some Really Smart Guy who works for the President said:

"Weather practically everywhere is being caused by climate change"

He's got a PhD, so it must be true.

I mean, how can us simple peasants understand deep thoughts like that?

Wonder if the Really Smart Guy knows that the earth circles around the sun, or is he one of the 26% of Americans who were sleeping in high school science class, and missed that?

We could use Really Big Atmospheric CO2 Pumps designed & built by the President's cronies!

Win-win!

Geez. Don't be such a Debby Downside.

Our government Masters will have all the electricity they need. They might even share some with us peasants every once in a while.

Look, it's not just ANYONE who is saying it. The Teleprompter of the United States has spoken. Pay no attention to the man in the stupid-looking golf shorts.

The British Isles used to be buried under ice thousands of feet thick - who is to say that was not the “correct” state of affairs and that the last few millennia were just unusually warm?

Getting rid of the CO2 is the ultimate leftist dream. I have come to the conclusion that the left somehow believes they will still be here when they have destroyed the earth. Maybe 0bama will grant them waivers exempting them from needing an atmosphere.

Actually you are correct. Glacial periods last hundreds of thousands of years and the inter glacial periods last about 20 thousand years. We are nearing the end of an inter glacial period.

It's why they re-named it from Global Warming to Climate Change: vagueness.

Now, it doesn't matter if the temp goes up or down, it's our fault and we have to pay money to.... someone, so "they" can "fix" it.

But how will we know when it is all "fixed" and we (meaning rich countries) can stop paying for it? I have the same question about reverse discrimination... I mean affirmative action.
