The race to succeed retiring Democratic Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan is still rated "Democratic Favored" by some Washington prognosticators, but the contest is starting to look like a toss-up.

Peters and Schauer can’t distance themselves from their Obamacare votes. In the case of Schauer its the only memorable thing he did in his 1 term in congress.

What the DNC mouthpieces at ABC, CBS, NBC, and the rest of the alphabet channels are not reporting is the widespread anger many Americans have at the direction this country is going. The print media, while certainly not the most objective medium, is starting to post articles more frequently about the bad economic conditions and voter discontent especially against the Democrats. I know we’re always lamenting here about the vast numbers of low information voters but the American people, at some point, are not going to take this crap anymore. At some level we all know something isn’t quite right with this country and our political classes are going to feel the brunt of our anger eventually.

People don't forget easily. It was a small group that turned out in the 12 degree temps to greet Obama when he was in Lansing a week or so back but they represent a lot more.

I agree and I think a real change of direction is building. I've talked to a lot of people in Detroit that could be classified as low info voters who really do get it but are powerless to do anything about it. What some have told me is that they would vote for a republican but none run, if they did run they would act like the democrats, and the powers that be would not allow a republican to win.

TriLyte, with Flavor Packs?

Toss ups go to democrats where democrats control the process. Not always. How do you explain VA in the past election? Or Minnesota in 2008, with a Republican Gov and Legislature?
It's all about sleazy lawyers and a gutless GOP.

Rick Snyder needs to pull out all the stops to supersize Republican turnout. As long as the ghosts of Detroit don’t appear at the polls, I predict a loss for Peters, and a very angry Ed Schultz.

Ah, but in Minnesota, wasn’t the AG a Democrat?

Having only one “job” in his life seems to have agreed with him - but not us.

It’ll force out anything! Put it in the Congressional water fountains, coffee makers, etc..

John Dingel, who's been a US Rep for over fifty year, if you've ever heard him speak recently, sounds like he's developing alzheimers or has suffered a stroke.
It's pathetic how long his family has been around in politics....He took over from his father back in the 50's and I don't think he's ever held a public sector job but has made millions off us.

There is talk that if John Dingell didn’t run, his wife would.
Somebody needs to knock the self declared royalty off their throne.

Dingell has been in office for 58 years BTW.
His father held the seat from 1933 to 1955.
80+ freakin years between them.
