RE: If you took San Francisco, Sacramento, and Los Angeles out of the state of California, and left the rest of the state alone to govern itself, the world of electoral politics, and every other issue, would completely change.

I’m surprised the author did not San Diego include in the mix...

Would each city state get two senators?

The real benefit to the city-state system is that all the folks who are not in a city-state would regain their ideological representation.

Thank the 1964 Reynolds v. Sims Scotus court decision for turning every state into a democratic republic.

This is onto the right idea.

This plan would take our largest cities, governed primarily by socialist Democrats, and separate them out as independent, self-governing, self-funding political units, with no connection to the states

I hope the author isn't serious. It's silly and wildly unrealistic. Goofy plans like that one only distract from Mark Levin's very sensible suggestions.

This will never happen. Not without a war and big fences.

A Constitutional Convention would open Pandora’s Box. The takers would take over and things would only get worse.

Nifty concept; terrible idea. Will he include the corridors between them too? He'll never draw the boundaries in a workable fashion.

No, a better idea is to return the States to the principles of Federalism, with a State Senator representing the county government as selected by boards of supervisors, and the State legislatures selecting US Senators. That way a good idea has a much better chance of making Federal law, an able politician will more quickly be elevated to national rank, and US Senators will not need to raise so much cash for their re-elections.

How about simply using the Commerce Clause in the way it was intended and crush the permitting, licensing and zoning nonsense that interferes with free trade between the states?

After we take back Congress you begin to reduce the benefits for not working and increase the benefits of working. Blame unemployment where it belongs - bad regulatory and tax policy enforced by Democrats.

Believe it or not, once upon the time America’s large cities were bastions of civilization, safety, and even religion. That has all changed and the ultimate cause was the development of the Democrat political machine (a la Boss Tweed). The Democrat party at that time might not have stood for the abominations it does today but the machine founded at that time became the mechanism through which our cities were subverted and turned into hell-holes.

If you have an Article 5, remember that the grasshoppers outnumber the ants.

I can’t believe people think a Constitutional convention is a good idea with our current make up. The chance for hot civil war or mass camps is to great.

But in the ages of Clintoid and Obama, the suburbs are moving left too. Already were in NYC and Philadelphia for years
