Kansas’ Anti-Gay Segregation Bill Is An Abomination
Slate via Business Insider ^ | 02/16/2014 | Mark Joseph Stern, Slate

Posted on 02/16/2014 6:56:37 PM PST by Carbonsteel

On Tuesday, the Kansas House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a measure designed to bring anti-gay segregation — under the guise of “religious liberty” — to the already deep-red state. The bill, written out of fear that the state may soon face an Oklahoma-style gay marriage ruling, will now easily pass the Republican Senate and be signed into law by the Republican governor. The result will mark Kansas as the first state, though certainly not the last, to legalize segregation of gay and straight people in virtually every arena of life.

It seems to me that very little did more to arouse the anger of God in the Old Testament than Sodomy or Idolatry.

Well, we are becoming a nation that worships gays and the gay lifestyle.

Tell me this won't end badly.

As a male nurse, I know, on a personal level, lots of gays. On that personal level, their sin is between themselves and God. I really have little to say about it.

On the societal level, I can’t think of many things that would be more harmful than homosexuality being normalized.

I don’t want gay people to be persecuted, but I don’t want our society to celebrate an obvious aberration.

Sorry, but gay is NOT “normal”.

How will a business know you are gay or straight if you leave you sex in your bedroom?

Gay is also not healthy. Nor is any form of multiple sexual partners.

Didn’t want to click on the link because the bias of the author is obvious(putting “religious liberty” in quotes as if that’s a bad thing) but what exactly would this bill do? Protect the rights of churches and Christian business owners?

What is an abomination are the mentally ill people we have running around now demanding to have their insane whims catered to.

There are around 50+ different variations that “LGBT” people have to choose from as their sex.

I honestly don’t understand it. Can someone declare they are a plant or a mineral? What is someone claims they are Napoleon? Don’t we have to respect their wishes, too?

Oh For the Love of God!

What Happens when the State FORCES you do serve someone?

Where will these people then, when the first Catholic Church or Synagogue is shutdown or looses it's tax exempt status because it won't preform a gay wedding?

Freedom of Religion?

Whatever!

Freedom of Speech?

Oh that was gone a LONG time ago.

Who holds the Kansas Ping List?

This Article is so stupid it gave me Colon Cancer >:(

Exactly. In their minds, we’re all a bunch of Putin-style “meanies” because we want sexuality to remain private, not public.

Right of free association is an “abomination?”

Only in the fever-mad leftist mind.

Just curious, do any of your homosexual co-workers agree with your statement:

“I don’t want gay people to be persecuted, but I don’t want our society to celebrate an obvious aberration.”

We effectively lost this argument about forty years ago when we let the forces of Evil, with the complicity of the Leftist Media, get away with defining the terms that frame the debate about abortion.

There is no way that this present anointment of the homosexual ethos will not redound to our profound detriment - it will end us as a civilized society.

Oh yeah - and if the Lord decides to clear his throat in the sight of all this iniquity - Look out!!

Have you heard of the bakery that went out of business because they wouldn’t make a gay wedding cake? This bill should stop such nonsense. People should be able to run their business any way they want and suffer or benefit for their choices (including handicap accessibility - IMO).

I’ve been called racist a few times right here at FR for saying that any business should be able to refuse to serve whoever they want short of life saving care.

Sounds like a good bill to me. I fear that before long, agreeing with Jesus’s definition of marriage in Matthew 19:4-6 will result in one’s not being allowed to have a job at all.

Pretty much.

It’s hard to take the moral high ground on anything once you’ve set the bar so low!

What people do in the privacy of their homes is entirely up to them provided that they are mentally competent, consenting adults. Their behavior in public, however, may be regulated. Public behavior is the most regulated thing on Earth. Since this law springs from attacks on the marriage industry, consider this:

What if the loving couples want the photographer to capture those first intimate moments of their marital bliss? What if they want the cake delivered to their little love nest. I don’’t think it unreasonable to politely refuse their requests and suggest that they seek another vendor. There seem to be plenty willing to do it.

They are trying to rub our faces in it, as a sort of revenge for their perceived slights. It has gotten out of hand.

It’s time people faced facts. Normal people (heterosexuals if you will) naturally loath homosexuality. It’s nature, they are born that way. making laws against nature never turn out well. See my tagline.
