According to 2009 data from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 41 percent of all births were to unmarried women. The percentage has risen steadily since at least 1980... In 1980, it stood at 18.4 percent. By 1990, it was 28.0 percent. And by 2000 it was 33.2 percent. In 2009, 17 percent of births to Asian-Pacific Islanders were out of wedlock, with non-Hispanic whites at 29 percent, 53 percent for Hispanics, 65 percent for American Indians and Native Alaskans and 73 percent for non-Hispanic blacks.
These stark numbers reveal far more about the rapid state of decay within a society than GDP or employment data. In effect, they tell us of the disintegration in the moral vision of a people who have tossed aside the old restraints, eschewing the traditional moral appeals of praise and blame while losing faith in an institution that has been the wellspring of American virtue... Strong intact families, all things being equal, have generally provided the foundation for nurturing opportunities that translate ultimately into individual success, as well as fostering the generational continuity of a salutary institution that is fundamentally anchored in divine revelation by virtue of natural design...
In a country where divorce is almost as easy to get as a tattoo, the fact that over four in ten children are raised out of wedlock may seem to be a belabored point. But children raised in households where no binding commitment exists between couples who engage in serial monogamy or who must wrestle with the ghost of a transient or absent father, bear the full brunt of our degraded choices. ..In the Judeo-Christian worldview, the book of Genesis grounds marriage as a union designed as a categorical good for mankind.

These are the children and grandchildren of LBJ.
The government is now god, as is the days of Rome. By simply reading history, we all know how this will turn out, after active persecution of the Christians, of course. God wins.
Yes, and it is time for us to be honest and identify those government policies that have lead to this and remove them branch and root. This, not government subsidies, would be the greatest anti-poverty program. We need the courage to tell this nation the truth.
Whatever happened to celibacy before marriage?
Both Bill Clinton and Barak Obama are bastards.
I have no doubts that helped contribute to the situation.
I have a 350-pound 57-year-old unhealthy unattractive white male cousin who basically supports an unmarried black woman in Newark with several kids from different fathers. He makes great money at a respectable job, but he’s always broke. Why? His money goes to the woman. After many years of this arrangement, he apparently asked her to marry hism She refused because if she was married her welfare check would go down. There’s the problem!
I was just talking about this topic with my wife over the weekend.
My son goes to an after school program at our local YMCA, they open the pool for them, the gym, and also have a nice area to do homework at, he has a lot of fun there. When she picked him up the instructor who runs the program came up and was talking to her and kind of congratulated us.
Of the 24 kids in that particular program from our school my son was the only kid there who had only one set of parents. No other grandparents, no stepsisters or brothers, whose parents had never been divorced and who were married living together first before they were born.
1 out of 24.
Pretty damn sad if you ask me.
These are the pro-traditional marriage so-cons that Paul, Rubio and McCain lectured us about?
This is where the food stamp usage is high and is driving those ‘inequality’ radio #s that Dems keep lecturing us about.
without a doubt.
the killer of JFK and the destroyer of American Exceptionalism in order to develop an underclass of welfare voters....he should rot in hell.....
But, due to political correctness and liberal media, we can’t have any honest discussion of any of this.
Remember how Dan Quayle was crucified for touching on these subjects? And he called out the Murphy Brown TV show, because that woman on that show had a baby without a husband? He was lampooned and vilified by the liberals. Due to political correctness, we’re not allowed to say that it’s bad to have children out of wedlock, and better to raise children within marriage.
Liberal thought is that it is hateful to single mothers, to say that we should not have children out of wedlock. So the discussion ends right there, as the liberals heap abuse on anyone who says anything about this.
Since Dan Quayle, I can’t think of too many politicians who have ever brought this subject up.
Correct.
The government has made this blueprint for perpetual, unwholesome and ultimately disastrous poverty, discord and amorality.
These people, once they reach physical maturity, will not be capable of anything ... except to reproduce themselves.
At THAT, they are not even sufficiently well-bred to make proper soldiers. Because let’s face it ... you can only make good soldiers when you make good citizens.
This element is nothing but a mark for enemies who will be salivating at the gate before its over.
The US has become a petri dish for evil.
“Of the 24 kids in that particular program from our school my son was the only kid there who had only one set of parents.”
Last year my daughter gave birth in a Utica NY hospital and several staff mentioned how unusual it was to be dealing with a married couple. Back in the good old days it was the pregnant sluts who were unusual. THANKS LIBERALS!
I do far more paternity actions than anything else
the kids in question are growing up with bunches of half-siblings
every kid has a different dad
multiple parenting plans
it is horrifying
the kids who are the parents grew up in divorced families for the most part, not exclusively
but an intact family with two committed parents is getting hard to find
“”Whatever happened to celibacy before marriage?””
“The government tells us that this is not possible!”
Not only that but if you mention to a lib how much better society was in the past they will argue that the good old days never existed and that you are delusional.
Bump.
