Holy God,

Only when the scales are lifted from our eyes are we able to see Jesus. Father, we thank You that You never gave up on us when we were blind and unable or unwilling to see the truth. You chose to be patient and long-suffering toward us. You chose to prevail and give us many chances to have our eyes enlightened. Thank You, Father, that we can see Jesus now, and that we are able to follow the Light that You have placed before us.

Lord, may each of our military men and women be able to see Jesus as well. And not only that, may they help others come to the One, True Light. Protect them, Lord, and help them to grow closer to You during their time of service.

We ask special blessings of Light upon Your people Israel, seeking Your highest blessings upon their land, their families, their government, and lives. May the harvest of souls be plentiful.

Father, on this day when we honor our Presidents,we thank You for the strong, Godly leaders we have had during the history of our nation. We ask that You bring Your special Light to our current leader. May the goodness of the Lord lead him to repentance, and may he seek You with all his heart.

Thank You for caring for our Olympic athletes as they bring closure to their competitions. Lord, may they use every opportunity to bring peace and good will among the nations.

Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your Name. Now and forevermore, You are Worthy of all glory, honor, praise, and blessing. Blessed are You, our God and King. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
