Slavery reparations sought from Britain by 14 Caribbean nations

Could this be the decade that slavery reparations become a reality?

If not, it won't be for a lack of trying. This is the obvious next step for poor countries getting poorer because of bad economics, bad politics, and bad, bad leaders. Former colonial powers are to be milked for all the cash that can be gotten by laying a guilt trip on the good socialists who run these countries now.

Any successes enjoyed by the former colonies will no doubt encourage African Americans to try the same ploy here.

Jamaica is leading the way in pushing for reparations from Great Britain.

From The Telegraph:

A coalition of 14 Caribbean states, including Jamaica, agrees with Mr Thompson, and is now mounting the first united campaign for reparations from Britain over its role in the Atlantic slave trade.

Represented by CARICOM, the regional organisation, the group is prepared to sue in the courts. It has hired Leigh Day, the London law firm that last year won £20 million for Kenyans tortured by the British during the Mau Mau rebellion of the 1950s.

This month it will unveil a list of 10 demands for Britain, France and Holland, including funds likely to total billions, an apology, and assurances slavery will never be repeated, The Telegraph can disclose.

Professor Verene Shepherd, the chairman of Jamaica's reparations committee, said British colonisers had "disfigured the Caribbean," and that their descendants must now pay to repair the damage.

"If you commit a crime against humanity, you are bound to make amends," Prof Shepherd told The Telegraph. "The planters were given compensation, but not one cent went to the freed Jamaicans".

From the mid-18th century, British merchants shipped more than three million people from west Africa to the Americas,

they know better than to ask the african countries that ACTUALLY SOLD THEM INTO SLAVERY for money for two reasons, one they'd be told to screw off, and second, those countries all suck the American welfare teat just like the most of the descendants of those they sold in the first place...

O.K.Britain should charge them for all the amenities of western civilization to which they were introduced, e.g. penicillin, toilette paper, electricity, hot and cold running water, soap, deodorant, etc. etc.

Hey, where do I sign up for the Gravy Train? In 1650, my ancestors were left Wales as indentured servants, pulled stumps and the other hardest work on the lovely Caribbean island of Nevis BEFORE the black slaves arrived.

I want REPARATIONS and plenty of them and NOW. All Freepers invited to a party on the beaches of Nevis, all expenses paid, when my reparations money arrives.

I can make this promise in all seriousness, because you KNOW how long that will take.

The UK should at least give Jamaica a franchise to produce Guinness beer. Their Red Stripe beer stinks.

That’s right. The Arabs were the ones who enslaved them in the first place.

They have the Caribbean. That’s reparations enough. Now quit turning some of the most beautiful places on Earth into crime ridden, socialist hell holes.

That makes as much sense as Greece, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Britain, Ireland, Iceland and the US suing Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Turkey for reparations over slavery perpetrated by the Barbary Pirates.

Spain and Portugal not included?

Sounds like not only Black Racism with reparations...but also Hispanic/Lusophonic Racism as well...not including slavers from other parts of Europe

Deport them all back to Africa. There are no reparations without repatriations

Precisely,

Perhaps they should enjoy what the black man can conjure up...
send them back to that backwards hellhole from which they came.

Let them enjoy the advancements of the western world while they are on parole, cuzz once the white man stops , they will regress to just being black.

Will Britain be given reparations for all the missionaries who were eaten by residents of those Caribbean nations?
