People will forget why the prices went up.

Not if it's written right on the bill which is what you're objecting to isn't it?

How often do people argue about the taxes on their cell phone bills? How many look at their grocery receipts. Hardly any. It will turn into the same thing. You will pay Obamacare taxes during tax season and everytime you eat out or pay for services. Actually triple taxation since you’re already paying local taxes too.

I have no idea what you’re getting at. Sorry, it doesn’t seem to be an answer to my question at all.

I wonder if the business model of restaurants can ever be changed. Instead of hiring waiters and bartenders, etc., for cheap money and have them survive on tips, why not hire some professional staff at higher wages and declare their restaurant "tip-free".

Of course, they would need to raise the menu prices but so what? We consumers are going to pay the higher prices one way or the other. Charge a premium for the food and see what happens. We just need a pioneer to take a dare try the concept out.

Now I'm not talking about some Applebees doing this but a well-known top-tier restaurant. Supply great food with fantastic service - exclusive of tips - and I think people will show up and pay extra for it.

Restaurant goers who have long accepted paying most of the wait staff’s wages now are expected to pay for their health care? Does that include dental coverage?

I like it too. I think this is a shot directed right at Obama, “you liked his policies well enough to elect him twice, now it’s time to pay for what you voted for.”

I’ll break it down then.

I don’t approve of the ACA for a large number of reasons I won’t go into here. Most know why anyway.

I don’t like the fact that business owners are being forced to provide it, particularly given how piss poor of a program it really is with unusually high out of pockets expenses. Its almost as though they know benefits won’t be paid out on the majority of the 20 - 50 age range. Judge Roberts says its a tax. There’s a reason he called it a tax.

The employer has to raise the price or “pass” along the oost to his customers with an additional 3 % surcharge. The fact is that the ACA caused the price of food to go up at one eating establishment. Now that this precedent has been set, expect to see it happen everywhere. In effect, the price of everything goes up because of it. But that’s not all; you have to pay Obamacare taxes too so you haven even less money in your own pocket.

The price of services and goods goes up 3% so it creates a domino effect and the price of everything goes up even more.

Thats about as plain spoken as I can put it.

That’s not saying anything that we don’t all know. It doesn’t address my question at all. Thanks for trying though.

Someone help me, I think I am remembering something SIMILIAR to this happening with air travel.

IIRC, Spirit Airlines tried this tactic right after the Clown seized power and began to put REGULATIONS on the carriers.

Their web site DETAILED THE COST of the federal regulations that ADDED to ticket prices.

Somehow, STUPIDLY, the feds took them to court and Spirit had to REMOVE all of these itemized costs from their web site.

Does anyone else remember this? I think I am getting it right.

“Everyone should have to write a check to the IRS 4 times a year like those of us who are self employed.”

Haha, are you kidding? Never have I experienced such a royal screw job after “once” having to file as ‘self-employed’.
