I don't think you understand what is going on over there. Their government is corrupt and wants to turn Ukraine back over to the Russians. They are rebelling against fraudulently elected president who has rewritten the constitution illegally to basically give himself dictatorial powers.The corrupt president has just accepted another several billion dollar loan from Russia. They are fighting for the last scraps of freedom that are about to be taken away from them.

That's rather simplistic. There are sort of two sides but actually more and your depiction is one sided. One movement wants to stay close to Russia, that includes some of the government including Parliament. Another side wants to remain independent of both Russia and Europe. Another side wants to stay the heck away from the EU. Another side wants the EU and the stronger currency to buy more imports.

In reality the protestors are just useful idiots for the globalist European elite and the police are just useful idiots for Putin et al. Neither side is worth supporting.
