Club for Growth wants Sen. Cochran to meet the Tea Party

Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) may not know much about the Tea Party, but his primary challenger and the deep-pocketed Club for Growth are planning to introduce him.

Cochran told a local news outlet on Monday that he’s not that familiar with the grassroots conservative movement, which has helped produce a challenge to him in his primary election from state Sen. Chris McDaniel.

"The Tea Party, you know, is something I don't really know a lot about," Cochran said during a campaign stop in the state. "It's a free country. We have open opportunities for people to participate in the election process."

He also said he didn’t know much about McDaniel, who has received the backing of the Club, along with a handful of other cash-flush national conservative groups.

"Really haven't looked at his characteristics,” Cochran said when asked about McDaniel. "I'm just running my campaign, based on my qualifications to continue to serve as a United States senator."

McDaniel, asked about the comments, said they go “to show he hasn't been in the state very often.”

And the Club for Growth seized on the remarks, launching a new Web ad that juxtaposes Cochran’s comments with a response from McDaniel.

“Perhaps it’s time for an introduction,” McDaniel says in the ad.

What does that say about a high level politician who claims to not know about the biggest threat to the established parties in 100 years?

Hint: He lies!

Maybe Thad can go ask Trent. He’ll be clueless too, but it would be fun to watch.

You’re right.

Plus the fact, he’s been running vicious attack ads against TEA Party patriot, Mississippi State Senator Chris McDaniel for over 3 weeks now.

Thad Cochran is going to get his $ss beat.

Trent Lott would have gotten run out, as well had he not retired.
Mississippians were sick of Lott and they are sick of Thad.

Thad really makes MS voters look bad, like they’ve been self-deceived for so long.

My understanding is that Thad and Trent, though both were cheerleaderrs in college, rarely spoke to each other and walked away to avoid coming in contact with the other.

I dunno. Some folks think those warm, dark, "snug" places are pretty nice.

Cochran and Lindsey Graham both need to go - especially.

Pat Roberts hasn’t been the worst but doesn’t do anything for the image of the party as the party of “old white men.” Unfortunately, he fits the stereotype to a T.

The leadership will change if the make-up of the caucus changes and people like Graham have less influence over it.

Doesn’t know much about the Tea Party?

And we wonder why the IRS targeting continues?

This here is an important race. Much more important than replacing conservative Pat Roberts with “Obama’s cousin the doctor!”.

THAD Cochran is really nothing but a porker.
He really must receive a sound defeat in this primary race.

To old-time GOP establishment types:

You’re either with US (read that “Americans”) - or you’re with the Dems.

Ain’t no middle ground anymore.
