Less than 24-hours after Texas State Senator Dan Patrick released a video asserting his opposition to illegal immigration, the candidate for Texas Lt. Governor stands accused of having hired four illegal aliens in a bar he previously owned. Earlier today Sen. Patrick told the Weatherford Democrat he is proud to wear the title of toughest guy on immigration running for any state office. On Patricks campaign website he describes himself as Dan Patrick Border Champion.
Now Dan Patrick stands accused by his formerly illegal alien, now U.S. Citizen, former employee of not only hiring him and three other illegal immigrants, but hiring them with false documents and even allegedly offering to sneak one of them back from the Texas/Mexico border, past inland security checkpoints.
In a Dallas Morning News report, Miguel Mike Andrade, 48, of Missouri City, told The Dallas Morning News and Houstons KTRK-TV that he, his cousin and two other men from Mexico worked at one of Patricks five sports bars that operated in the Houston area until 1986.
At that time, there were no penalties involved in hiring someone in this residing in the U.S. illegally according to the report.

Let us see... a mexican citizen that is here illegally is lying about a man that is running for public office in a State that he and his brethren dream of making into mexico again. Not buying it... the whore that abandoned her husband and children does not deserve to be elected and this man does!
I thought this was the Governors race... sorry.
This
... his formerly illegal alien, now U.S. Citizen, former employee ...
is a real problem.
LT Gov. In TX, its maybe more important.
Typical Karl Rove hit for Dewhurst. But Patrick should have fessed up earlier.
I was ready to say he’s through, but then look at the date . . . 1986. The whole immigration climate was completely different back then, and DP has had plenty of chance to legitimately mature on the issue. No particular problem with the foreign former illegal, as he complied with the ‘86 law designed specifically to deal with folks like him.
Main problem would be if he really did conspire with the Mexican to have him re-enter illegally.
Karl Rove and the GOP-e need Dewhurst to win. I think this hit by Rove indicates Dewhurst might not be polling high enough for the runoff. Or they would have held it back until the runoff.
If he was smart, he might even have got way out in front of this by making an issue of how hard it is to not employ illegals in TX because of the weak enforcement. A stretch, but better than the position he's in now.
I think Dewhurst's political career is over. Cruz and the drunken phone call to the Allen police finished him off. He's stale bread, a wilted tomato, last week's news.
Doesn’t matter to me, I’m voting for Jerry Patterson for Lt. Governor.
That's hardly the inclusive, tolerant language we have come to expect from today's Republican Party!
Good to know!
That is easy... I am not a republican... not any longer. ;-)
They had to go back to 1986 to find this???
The country was way different back then, and Reagan granted amnesty (he said it was one of his biggest mistakes)
Patrick is the candidate who has lied about the other candidates on illegal immigration.
I've never been a fan of Dan Patrick.
If you had read the article you would have seen that Jerry Patterson hired a PI who found the former employee. It is in retaliation of Patrick lying about the other candidates on illegals.
Patterson had called Patrick a "pathological liar."
