CT:Courant could be shown costs of calling for arrests of ‘undocumented gun owners’
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 17 February, 2014 | David Codrea

With its call to the state of Connecticut to identify, arrest and prosecute gun owners who have not complied with “assault weapon” registration edicts, The Hartford Courant has removed all pretenses of “common sense gun safety” advocacy, and placed itself squarely in the confiscation and persecution camp. That has not been lost on defiant activists who correctly think of themselves as “undocumented” rather than "illegal."

(snip)

Rather than being a government watchdog concerned with protecting rights against infringements, the publisher and editors have instead assumed the role of cheerleaders and inciters. And that has gun owners understandably angry over the betrayal of everything journalism is ideally supposed to stand for.
(snip)

A way to discourage that is to cut off the enemy’s -- and that’s what they are -- supply lines. Major advertisers like automobile dealerships and realtors provide “aid and comfort” to that enemy via advertising revenues. A group of committed and organized gun rights activists could discourage that by approaching one or more with a phone, email and letter campaign, and even weekend sidewalk demonstrations, asking them if they agree with The Courant that the state should lock up their gun-owning customers. It would be especially effective if gun owners who have done business with such firms in the past contact the reps who made the commissions and who send them new business card refrigerator magnets every year.

LIBTARDS

people breaking into the country illegally, violating federal law ==> undocumented workers

Second Amendment gun owners refusing to register guns to the government for eventual confiscation ==> illegal criminals

That is right, the old media is in the process of dying, the new media will come out the lone winner.

Weren’t these also, guns that they owned before a new law was made about registration? So first they were not illegal weapons, and now they are?

The best thing to do with ignorant fools like the fools at the Courant is to Bocott them and their sponsors. Those S.O.B.’s will change their tune as soon as it hit them in the wallet.

The Courant’s editors had better wake up to the fact that in the even the Crap hits the fan,Their paper would be concidered a legitimate target. After all, they want to be the propagandist for the king.

Without the Second Amendment the First Amendment cannot exist.

Correct. Until the law was changed, CT has a law almost identical to the Clinton “Assault Weapons” ban, i.e pistol grip and detachable magazine was legal, but add a bayonet lug and it became illegal. They simply make it one cosmetic feature and banned a bunch by name.

If you owned one before the law was passed, and registered it is apparently a safe “assault weapon.”

And yes, Mallof still claims “overwhelming public support” for this law, so much support, they used a E-Cert to ram it thru.

They will compile a list of all new unsubscribers and give it to the cops as probable “illegal” weapons owners.

“Here is a way to help them down the tubes while protecting the Constitution. “

Precisely. If conservatives got smart, they would control their local political offices like the city council and county board. Then they could send out swarms of officers to eat out the sustenance of recalcitrant left wing advertisers.

Might I suggest spending $.50 on a paper and accidentally spilling something resembling diarrhea on the remaining contents of the box?

Accidents happen you know.

Who amongst us has never had an emergency BM in a newspaper box before?

Here’s what’s going to happen: The Hartford Rag is going to issue an editorial “apologizing.” The edict will come from the powers-that-be. Because they clearly overstepped and now have egg on their faces and let the mask slip. So expect a retreat.

I suspect that you are correct. This “slip” is already being used to expose their agenda nationally.

How does Connecticut think it will go about arresting that many “scofflaws” I wonder? Will they, like Joseph Stalin, round up 25% of some cities? The Soviets had the advantage of a nearly completely disarmed citizenry. The fascists in Connecticut have no such thing.
