Unless the GOP starts winning what were called Reagan Democrats we seem to be screwed. The problem is the GOPe pay masters will not allow the populist reform agenda needed to appeal to those people.

I remember the name, founder of Daly Kos.
Sounds more like a DNC shakedown of the RNC...again

Unless the GOP starts winning what were called Reagan Democrats we seem to be screwed.

The solution to that is "quit giving the Chamber of Commerce everything on their wish list, whether it's in the aggregate good for the country or not".

Start with Amnesty. Then take a look at how big banks are permitted to pick people's pockets.

The fact that the GOP ALWAYS comes down on the side of big business seems to REALLY turn-off Reagan Democrat types IMO.

Even Reagan sent some Savings and Loan perps to jail.

Atlanta could become the Detroit of the south.

I don’t see why I should accept tyranny just because a bunch of Mexicans in Georgia vote for it. We need to change the focus. Regardless of elections, are we going to be free or not. Our freedom isn’t a product of representative government formed by free elections. That’s not freedom, that’s majority rule. Our freedom is handed down from God and not subservient to the opinions of the a majority consisting of stupid people.

So when do we declare ourselves free in recognition of God’s natural order outlined in the Constitution? That done, any attempt to reign us in by courts, magistrates, and the majority will be an attack on our persons and subject to the natural laws of self defense.

When politicians have deviated from the Constitution or chamged the original blueprint for the Republic as drawn up by the Founding Fathers there have almost always been unforeseen and unwanted consequences.

The Founders were wise enough to exclude from voting people who have nothing invested in their community or the nation itself.

Now we have a majority, or near majority, of the people who live by sucking the teat of government. These people will always vote for the most unscrupulous politicans who promise them the most free stuff.

The only way to begin restoration of sanity and honesty in the electoral system is to deny voting privleges to anyone who lives on government handouts, such as welfare, that they have not contributed to or earned.

Georgia -- along with most of the former Confederate states -- were heavily Democratic states for decades. The Republican trend was only a recent phenomenon, as the Democrats became more and more of a political party of freaks.

It wouldn't take much to turn these states back to "Blue," considering the racial/ethnic makeup of their populations. A lot of folks who aren't familiar with the South don't realize how large the black population is down there. And that's a group that would cast 90% of its vote even for a white Democratic candidate with a KKK past.

The only real answer to this is to stop voter fraud. If anyone believes Dems are really winning all these states when a good portion of those Mexicans are illegal and not supposed to be voting at all, well...

I share your ire, but our peril is being caused by not only immigrants, but changing internal demographics, morals, plus the (un)intended(?) consequences of 30 plus years of socialist education, globalization, and the explosion and proliferation of technology. We are now clearly a minority. The only question left may be how do we enter the dust bin of history.

That darned Sherman stopped the army and “gave” Savannah to Lincoln for a Christmas present intact! A beautiful, married lady from Savannah gets the credit. (This just for history buffs) :-)

Sorry the Kos is confused and does NOT understand Georgia politics. His analysis is wishful thinking.

the thing that will be most interesting will be the governor’s race.

Georgia is working hard to be the first state to pass the Convention of States application.

The House Judiciary Committee and the House Rules Committee have passed the Convention of States application.

Georgia delegates decided to move the resolution to the House floor right away.
The Georgia House will be voting on the COS application today!

I agree with Buckalfa. Our country has changed. Recently on freerepublic someone posted a chart/graph regarding the religious nature of the country. There’s been a steady decline in church attendance and a growth in those who are atheist or agnostic with the greatest decline occurring since the late 1980’s forward. Morals make a difference. Christianity is on the wane in our nation and it’s having a negative impact. Remember these quotes:
John Adams - We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion… Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. Benjamin Rush - The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be aid in religion. Without this there can be NO virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments. Without religion, I believe that learning does real mischief to the morals and principles of mankind. Noah Webster - [T]he Christian religion, in its purity, is the basis, or rather the source of all genuine freedom in government. . . . and I am persuaded that no civil government of a republican form can exist and be durable in which the principles of that religion have not a controlling influence.

Do you really think this Republic can be saved without the same mind and heart that these men possessed? Can you imagine what it would take to return us as a nation to their same attitudes? In light of these facts, it’s hard to be optimistic about our country. God will not be mocked. What you sow you will reap. Since we don’t want Him involved in our nation any longer we get the communists and the Miley Cyruses of the world. Enjoy them while you can. It’s going to be a very bad harvest America.

He may be wrong about Georgia but a number of stats I've seen for Texas suggest that he might be correct about that state. If Texas goes, the country's finished....there'll never be another decent, respectable, trustworthy President again in our lifetimes.Or the lifetimes of our grandchildren.
