Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly is sending an envoy to Ukraine to try to mediate discussions with anti-government protesters – at the request of the country’s president – after violence flared up again Thursday in Kiev, leaving 33 more people dead.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the announcement after Putin and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych talked over the phone, state-run news agency RIA Novosti reported, according to Reuters.

On Thursday morning, a truce called by Yanukovych and opposition leaders fell apart as government snipers fired at protesters, who hurled Molotov cocktails and rocks at lines of police in response.

We can do a lot for Americans by staying the Hell out with everything, threats, money, sanctions, support, advice and rainbow lines.

Obama mentioned sanctions. On who?

Once again, Putin has it right. And like it or not, the Ukraine is more Russian than not.

And they did elect their President.

Russian mediators? It’s like sending cannibals to mediate some tribal dispute - they will ensure themselves very nutritious meals.

"Ukraine's Interior ministry also said Thursday that 67 police troops have been captured by protesters in Kiev’s Independence Square."

"Video footage on Ukrainian television showed protesters apparently leading some of the captured policemen around the sprawling protest camp in the area. One opposition lawmaker says the police are being held in Kiev's city hall, which is being occupied by protesters."

Machiavelli said to the Prince that it is better to occupy a country than to conquer. 7 million Ukranians were killed or starved to death in the winter 1932-33. They call it Holodomor. Mothers were eating their babies to survive. http://www.holodomorct.org/

By necessity, empires must enforce their authority to keep and hold a hegemony, from time to time, else they fast become a toothless tiger.

The “mediators” shall soon enough be followed by “military advisors”, as the “nation-building” of the Ukraine proceeds.

And do not disregard the “invisible (?) hand” of George Soros, who profits handsomely with civil unrest.

Someone has to defend Germany and the EU so they can fund their social market economy. Might as well be the US taxpayers.

No, he's not Stalin, but Putin's not a friend of a free and Independent Ukraine. He created this mess and will encourage more bloodshed to reestablish his Russian Empire. Putin is no friend of freemen.

Try reading the article. Seek first to understand; it’s that approach that will win open minds to the conservative side, too.
