It’s the epic GOP primary that wasn’t. Tea party activists hoped to oust Texas Sen. John Cornyn this year in an early-March contest that could have burnished their credibility heading into the midterms. Instead, Cornyn’s best-known challenger, Rep. Steve Stockman, has gone missing on the campaign trail, dogged by unflattering stories about his past and his ethics.
It’s a disappointment for many national political watchers who had pulled out the popcorn for this race. Stockman has a penchant for making inflammatory statements — one of his bumper stickers read: “If babies had guns they wouldn’t be aborted.” In December, he tweeted a picture of a can of “liberal tears,” calling it the “best gun lubricant around.”
While that kind of rhetoric resonates with a corner of the GOP base, establishment Republicans trying to avoid intraparty warfare are relieved to see Stockman’s campaign founder. And as Cornyn sails toward the nomination and back to the Senate, even the most ardent Texas tea party activists are distancing themselves from the firebrand congressman — and wishing he would quit saying he’s one of them.

What next?
Will MoocHell Obama tell us that we really need to keep John Wayne McCornyn in the Senate to keep Harry Reid on his toes?
Stockman is the candidate the media boosted because they know that with his checkered past, Cornyn already has attack ads that would sink him.
Our TEA party group is backing David Stovall of Dallas. At least we know that he’s trying to campaign instead of MIA as Stockman has been. It makes one suspicious of what deals were made by Cornyn and Stockman.

Prediction: the Left will secretly promote Stockman acting under a faux “patriot” group name to divert votes away from Stovall and increase Cornyn’s chances. They need to address these types of strategies to ensure we get an authentic -and conservative (R) elected. We can do the same to Cornyn if need be.
He's running scared. And the goal of the March 4th primary is to keep him under 50% so that there will be a run-off. Stockman's presence in the race adds to that likelihood, regardless of his "MIA" campaign status.
Period.
The only way to regain our republic is to purge the vermin from our ranks.
Its the long war we need to be look to.
I don’t know about any deals. Stockman was a marginal at best candidate to begin with who seems rather flighty. While I don’t watch a lot of local TV I haven’t heard a single ad for any Cornyn challenger on radio or on the internet. Most people don’t know that there’s any “race” going on and I think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion to what it really is.
It would be nice if we had another Ted Cruz to challenge this year, but, we don’t. Let’s not try to create one where it doesn’t exist.

I'm hoping that works to our advantage and motivated Tea Partiers can push Cornyn out because his people don't show.
The money, endorsements, and name recognition comes when Cornyn is forced into a run-off by 7 challengers.

That's really the point isn't it? We can't complain about the Dem's misconduct and then run a candidate like Stockman, who's history includes drug arrests, personal bankruptcy, sleazy campaign tactics (the fake newspapers which print entirely fabricated stories to discredit his opponents), lies and obfuscation concerning his status and funding, etc.
If a candidate does not maintain conservative principles such as fiscal responsibility, sexual responsibility, and a commitment to the truth in his personal life, how can he lead the nation into conservatism?
Surely we (conservatives) aren't ALL hypocrites? Surely we can find family men who have tried to live their lives according to Biblical principles, who have built successful businesses, who have served their country when called upon, who have made a commitment to their traditional family?
These are the men we need to find to challenge the RINO's.
Otherwise we expend our energies replacing a corrupt career pol with another corrupt career pol.
Judge their values by their lives, not heir rhetoric.
The first step....force Cornyn into a runoff. Next, get behind the candidate against Cornyn.
Cornyn is a deceptive, manipulative liar and has got to be thrown out of office.
This story is four weeks old, so consider that Texans are in no better mood now than on the day it was published.
Cornyn held to under 50, in the upcoming primary, will ignite and renew the firestorm.
Seven heroes are willing to go up and face off with Cornyn and the RINO machine.
The particulars will come later, as to who carries on against him into the general election.
