Sen. Rand Paul said in a Twitter message that rocker-turned-activist Ted Nugent ought to apologize for making “offensive” remarks about President Obama.
Mr. Nugent made the media wave this week with an interview in which he described the president as a “subhuman mongrel,” right before he took to the campaign trail for Texas gubernatorial hopeful Greg Abbott. Mr. Abbott’s aides have since distanced their candidate from Mr. Nugent and quietly removed him from the campaign trail, Newsmax reported.
Late Thursday evening, Mr. Paul made his view of the situation clear.
In a tweet, he wrote: “Ted Nugent’s derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.”
Mr. Paul wasn’t the only GOPer to weigh in. Sen. Ted Cruz said “of course” he didn’t agree with Mr. Nugent’s assessment of the president, The Hill reported. And Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president, The Hill said.

Mr. Nugent originally made the remarks in an interview with Guns.com. His full statement: “I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

Rand Paul needs to STFU.
He really rubs me the wrong way from time to time.
SOunds like ted nailed it.
Worse things have been said about White Republicans.
I see what you did there! HA!
As for RP...shut up! A private citizen voicing his opinion is still a freedom we have...for a while anyway.
LOL, Ted Nugent can say what others can only think in private.
So—Nugent made a politically offensive remark?
Color me shocked!
Why not? BHO said that of himself. Ted was simply continuing with the (apt) description.
So—Nugent made a politically offensive remark?
Color me shocked!
i would like to introduce a law making it illegal to publicly apologize.
Ted’s the man!
I hesitate to say what I am thinking.
Tell him... ‘RIGHT... when Liberals apologize for the slander, lies and other shabby statements they made about President Bush, for 8 YEARS - and counting!’
Ted Nugent is right on target.
I think it was well said and covered his life story in a nutshell.
Pathetic . . . I’m beginning to lower my opinion of Rand Paul considerably. First of all, every word is true. Second, Nugent left out the foreign-born illegal alien part. Third, compare any of that with the outrageous and highly offensive stuff said about us and the Tea Party members.
Hey, Nugent! Spit in their eye!
Who the hell is Rand Paul to tell an American Citizen to apologize to the President?
If you're not prepared to deal with his frankness, don't invite him.
Frightening Hegemony, complaining about the “tone” of political discourse. We are angrym. Do you know why? Ask the interviewer to ask Obama why he is angering people to the core. Call Obama every name in the book. That what you get with someone in that office insisting on blatantly unconstitutional acts, and leading us down the path towards a banana republic. Hey, that’s racist-NOT!
..as time has past, the truth has been revealed.
Not sure what the calculus is...
Rand surely understands there isn’t a need to comment on something like this...Perhaps it is to make himslef appear more likeable to people who don’t hate the president, but are not 100% sure to vote Democratic in 16.
Where is BO’s apology for calling middle Americans bitter clingers?
So Chimpy McBushHitler is okay Mr. Paul??
Ted Nugent should apologize to Subhuman Mongrels.
Ted said nothing we hadn’t heard before out of Obama’s own mouth
Obama called himself a Mutt
When Obama gives condolences to Brian Terry’s family, and apologizes for the 100 or more people who died because of Fast and Furious. When Obama gives a full explanation of what he was doing during Benghazi, why he didn’t do what other country’s did evacuate the embassy, or provide the extra security Ambassador Stevens requested.
H. Ross Perot was a boss who risked his own life to save his employees lives. Obama doesn’t see to give a darn about the people who work for him.
That might be subhuman. And Rand Paul is another GOP throwing a good conservative under the bus. When was the last time a Democrat thru a progressive under the bus?
The libs still won’t call Clinton a sexual predictor, not one NOW woman ever wanted Clinton investigate because of Juanita Broderick. Rand needs to know when to shush up.
But labeling him as "subhuman" is OK!
Why should Nugent apologize? we all know that he wouldn’t mean it. LOL
Why don’t these people focus on important issues instead of what someone truthfully described the _resident? I would distance myself from Paul and Perry because they want to cover up the truth.
Senator Paul will probably offend more here asking for Nugent to apologize than Nugent offended wearing a diaper on stage.
I think Dick Cheney was called worse things.
Ted should correct this. He should have said ‘allegedly’ since we haven’t seen any real documentation. He may actually be a purebred Davis puppy.
Nugent really *should* apologize to subhuman mongrels everywhere.
Actually, it is kind of funny that from all that Nugent said, the Republicans are saying, essentially, that Nugent was CORRECT except for the “subhuman mongrel” term.
Remember the Han Solo line from Star Wars— “Who you calling ‘scruffy’?”
So it is OK for Paul’s aides call Cruz “the chief of the wacko birds” though? Rand seems a bit confused.
I don't twitter, twatter, twutter or stutter...stutter...stutter, so Rand Paul can read this and STFU...STFU...STFU
It was a dumb thing to say, because it ONLY helps the other side.
That WAS a pretty nice little backhand from the governor.
I do not respect anyone who apologizes because they offended someone, but meant what they said. If Ted Nugent wants to be outrageous and provocative, so what?
Rand Paul can go to hell.
Why, whatever do you mean? Nugent is a commoner. He's lucky that he's not in prison.
Again, Isee Rand Paul among the top tier of the “lessers of evil”...but I do not see another Dr ron paul on the horizon!
The Nudge is fine by me just as long he didn’t call him a jug eared Kenyan mutant, lying POS.
I eagerly await Tedlys response. This oughtta be good.. Apology? Hahahaha, no chance.
To these people this is important! Shaming Abbot and wrecking his election chances in any way possible! Anything to get the "pink shoes" lady elected Governor and turn Texas blue!
What would be wrong with that?
Hundreds of Mexican people murdered by the weapons provided by obama, thousands of wounded or dead soldiers because of obamas support of the terrorists, 4 dead in Benghazi with several more wounded and dozens of others under attack and he stopped help from coming so he could party, the firing of officers in a silent coup that is ongoing, the FCC bringing in commissars into the newsrooms and on and on....
I think Ted restrained himself.
