Drudge report ^ | 2/20/2014 | Del Quentin Wilber

U.S. gun makers led by Sturm Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. (SWHC) churned out a record number of firearms in 2012, government data show, continuing a trend of robust production during Democratic presidencies.

Brian Malte, senior policy director of the Washington-based Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, said gun-rights groups “demonized” Obama during the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns, leading many gun owners to buy more firearms.

“We see the percentage of households owning guns declining,” he said, “and that indicates that those who already own guns are buying more of them.”

Go ahead and keep believing the number of households in which someone owns a gun is declining, you stupid little twerp.

You can't go wrong with Ruger. They make excellent quality firearms.

I once owned a half-dozen of their handguns and a couple of their rifles - until my entire gun collection was lost in a tragic boating accident on the Chesapeake Bay, that is...

They really believe their own lies don’t they. The huge increase in first time gun owners is phenomenal. Especially among women.

I’m thinkin’ he probably hasn’t gone to one of them evil/sell to any Tom, Dick or Harriet gunshows lately. Or ever. He probably has peeps that do that to report on all the felons lining up to buy guns from “private dealers”. What a didiot. But, he is apparently a “gun safety advocate”.

What they really see is people wising up and refusing to advertise what they have.

Murder in Memphis. http://truecrimebookreviews.com/2011/06/murder-in-memphis-dorris-porch-rebecca-easley-deborah-william-groseclose/ This creep hired men to murder his young wife. Let them into the house, while he slipped out with the kids. She was Raped, stabbed, beatened, strangled until she passed out. Stuffed into the trunk of her car, which was then relocated down town, where she is still alive, she COOKED TO DEATH in the 100 + summer temps of Memphis. A anti-death penalty federal judge and 2 state supreme court judges kept blocking the use of the DP. They finally were retried, found guilty again, and given Life WITH parole. There is 1 sick sister left to fight the parole hearings.

Parole & Probation stats this is the newest on online. Based on 45%, NOT 100%/
https://www.ncjrs.gov/txtfiles/ppvsp91.txt
This is an older study as there are no newer ones, this gives you a big idea of just how many additional early release of criminals to parole and probation cause. in 1991, 45% of State prisoners were persons who, at the time they committed their offense, were under conditional supervision in the community—either on probation or on parole. They then committed an additional 74,400 new crimes. Their original crimes add up to 25,900. The NEW crimes FAR out ceded their REPEAT CRIMES.

Based on the offense that brought them to prison, the 162,000 probation violators committed at least 6,400 murders, 7,400 rapes, 10,400 assaults,
and 17,000 robberies, while under supervision in the community an average of 17 months.

Based on the offense that brought parolees back to prison, these 156,000 offenders committed at least 6,800 murders, 5,500 rapes, 8,800 assaults, and 22,500 robberies, while under supervision in the community an average of 13 months.

Word of caution, crime is not counted accurately. More of our governments fuzzy math tricks. It is Hierarchical Counted, only the most serious crime is counted if there were actually 4 crimes committed at the time. Kidnap, rape, rob then kill a person, only the murder counts. Rest flushed down the toilet.

If by "problem," you mean a failure to go "bang," then neither have I.

"excellent quality" is usually understood to refer to superiority over similarly chambered offerings, not offering oddball chamberings with "little man" syndrome....

And I suspect a large number of his progressive friends have made a fortune investing in firearms stocks.

Actually, the rational discussion ended when one tries to "one up" disagreeing parties by changing the subject.

Okay.

Despite the fact that it was actually you who changed the subject when you began insulting me for asking you a question, and despite the fact that it was you who lamely attempted to change the definition of the word excellent, I’ll ask one more question.

Does EITHER of the gun manufacturers you named, BOTH of which make firearms of truly superior quality, offer ANY form of revolver for sale? The point being, no matter how excellent FN and/or H&K may be, if one is in the market for a revolver, these firms do not offer one for sale, as far as I know.

let’s make this simple...read your original post and show where you qualified “firearms” with the descriptor “revolver.”

I stayed general: you’re the one that narrowed the focus without indicating same, and rather than correcting your oversight, you responded with first a re endorsement of Rugers in general, then a snide comment about others not offering an obscure “bear country” chambering.

If you wish to communicate effectively on a written forum, please remember we only see what you wrote: not what you “meant.”

I purchased a Ruger 10/22 last year and am finally getting around to taking my CCW class. I bought a .22 because I thought it would be easy to find cheap ammo. Boy was I wrong. It looks like most types of ammo are in stock except .22lr. What is up with that? Enough already.

I'm getting pretty close to buying a Beretta 9mm semitauto pistol with the 9mm carbine. Thoughts?
