Democrat Joe Manchin: ‘I Will Vote Tomorrow to Repeal’ Obamacare
National Review ^ | 02/21/2014 | Andrew Johnson

Posted on 02/21/2014 7:41:32 AM PST by SeekAndFind

A first Democratic senator has indicated he thinks it might be time to scrap Obamacare. While legislators should work to fix the law in the meantime, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia told Beckley’s Register Herald that he would support getting rid of the law entirely.

“I will vote tomorrow to repeal [the Affordable Care Act], but I want to fix the problems in it,” Manchin told an audience.

He described the law as a product that the government has failed to “sell.” Manchin made similar comments in November when he said Obamacare was “more than a rollout problem — there is a product problem.”

In July, before the law’s troubled rollout, Manchin said that he thought it needed more than just minor tweaks. “This is not a trim job,” he said of the needed changes to the bill. “This is a pretty good haircut that has to be looked upon.”

Manchin is a pathological liar ... the only thing you can really count on is his voting pattern in the Senate: 100% Marxist.

However, the WV Republican Party must take its share of the blame, here. I have NEVER seen them run an effective campaign for ANYTHING.

Are you sure that Manchin is a Democrat?

He sounds EXACTLY like a Boehner RINO !

It sure is cheap, especially when he knows there won’t be any vote on it anytime soon.

In this case “bold talk for a one-eyed fat man” holds true; Manchin talks bold with nothing to back it up or make it true.

“Will he change from D to R? I doubt it.”
*******************************************************************
If the man had ANY integrity, he would do so. The fact that he is staying a member of a party dominated by statists and anti-Americans clearly indicate that much of what he says is a lie. The man is absolutely despicable.

And apparently his lying works - because he continually gets re-elected.

Munchkin was first elected to the US Senate in 2010, to replace the late Bobby "Kleagle" Byrd. He spent two years doing more or less nothing, then got re-elected in 2012. Prior to the US Senate, he was Governor of WV, an office he held with bland indistinction. As to whom he has fooled: among others, the National Rifle Association twice gave him an "A" rating and a glowing endorsement. Following the shootings in Sandy Hook, he stabbed the NRA in the back.

His voting record has been pure 0bammunist.

If you're planning to point fingers, be sure to point some at national organizations like the NRA, which endorsed him and at the WV Republican Party, which twice ran the very nice, very conservative, very lethargic John Raese against him. WV GOP is utterly ineffective.

Perhaps he is aware of the possibility of it changing from D to U (Unemployed).

Manchin is a two-faced, lying, corrupt politician. This guy is an absolute political shyster. He votes to pass Obamacare when all the money was on the table and now talks tough to the folks back home about voting (won't happen) to repeal it.

How many time will Manchin get away with his ongoing double talk? I consider him one of the sleaziest politicians out there, and that says a lot.

Munchkin is up for reelection in 2018.

Manchin is a realist. He knows he’s on a short leash after his gun control escapade. Voting to end Obamacare is his attempt to get back in the good graces of West Virginians.

More pablum for the low-information voter. Must be election time back in the home state, so its time to dupe the rubes and the sheep. After the duping and lying is done, and re-election is secured, then its back off the DC to do the bidding of the leftists and the bankers.

Oh how long will people continue to fall for this political crap, spewed by both the left and the right (see McCain).

Manchin ought to be hung from a lamppost.

Not to defend the execrable toad Manchin, but he was NOT in the US Senate when it passed 0bamacare. You can correctly blame his predecessor Bobby “Kleagle” Byrd, and his comrade-in-corruption Jay Rockefeller, for that vote.

...If you're planning to point fingers...

I'm not singling West Virginia out. America elected an obvious con-man, Obama, twice. Politicians spew their lies - they are backed by the Media and/or other lobbyist Groups - and We the People, return them to office. Until that changes we will continue to fall deeper, and deeper into the quicksand. It is too late for States like California - the lies have been ingrained as truth, and the dependency on Government largess or handouts has grown beyond the critical mass point that it is doubtful it will be turned back until the system collapses upon itself.
I'm just hoping that the other States can stop swallowing the lies and help right the National Ship of State.

A tacit admission that he screwed up on his original vote.

I would give him more credit if he were actively trying to convince other democrats to vote for repeal.

Correct. The WV GOP seems to have already anointed Rep. Shelley Moore Capito to run for the Senate seat to be vacated by the retiring reprobate Jay Rockefeller. I am not thrilled with this. She's somewhat more reliable than John Boehner ... which isn't saying much. I was supporting Patrick McGeehan for that office; sadly he has dropped out.

He’s the only Democrat I have a smidgen of respect for. He seems more reasonable that the rest of the c**k su**ing Dems in DC.

I bet $10 if the GOP regain control he’ll switch. Think Shelby in Alabama did after ‘94

I am misinformed. Thank you for correcting me. I retract my statement regarding Manchin originally voting to pass Obamacare.

Now, about his NRA votes...
