Two false charges in Electra, Texas. Prosecutor tries to add more at pretrial. And so much more.

I verbally objected to an unconstitutional search of my vehicle in Electra, Texas. Police officers Matt Wood and Gary Ellis maliciously responded by issuing me two false citations. I got a copy of the dashboard-camera video at the pretrial hearing. It showed all. City attorney Todd Greenwood demanded I give my copy of the evidence back, and tried to have me arrested when I refused.

Todd Greenwood then compared rural Texas to the movie Deliverance, and warned me "What's written down in the Constitution is one thing, and the real practice is another."

All charges dropped. Section 1983 anyone?

Wichita County, Texas. There are still a great number of Democrats there in spite of a large retired military presence.

All charges dropped.

Unfortunately that's usually not the end of the story in these small towns were the LEO's don't take to kindly on average peons not "respecting their authoritah". Expect to have a cop car sitting outside your house for no apparent reason at odd hours, and following you about a foot off your back bumper every time you try to go out for a jug of milk. Unfortunately, I've seen it happen.

In these small towns cops don’t always have a heck of a lot to do. Gives them the free time to harass and pester those who they see as “disrespectful” (by which I mean don’t knuckle under to them.)

As a resident of Wichita County I’ve seen this in the news lately.

Electra is a very small town, 2,700 or so, and has, at the moment, 1 police officer. The Police Chief was fired in January. The town is now patrolled by the Wichita County Sheriffs Patrol.

I believe the officers in the video are now working for neighboring counties.

Wow! Not to self: Avoid Electra Texas at all costs.

I do hope he files a Section 1893 regarding the two officers and then goes after disbarment of the prosecuting attorney. He has the evidence for both.

“...Not every harm you suffer or every violation of your rights is covered by Section 1983. There are two requirements. First, Section 1983 applies to the “deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws.” This means that the actions you are suing about must violate your federal rights. Federal rights are those given by the U.S. Constitution, Amendments to the Constitution, and laws passed by the U.S. Congress. They are explained in part 1, below. Second, Section 1983 also says “under color of any statue, ordinance, regulation, custom or usage, of any State or Territory.” Courts have developed a short-hand for this phrase. They call it “under color of state law.” This means that the violation of your rights must have been done by a state or local official. This requirement is explained in part 2 below...”

It’s a good thing there wasn’t a dog in the Van. One of those notorious Shi-Tzu attack types could have forced the officers to defend themselves with a few hundred rounds spent.

Tulia, Texas, a small town northwest of Electra, had its reputation damaged by overreaching local officials who arrested and prosecuted a significant percentage of the local black population of the town on narcotics charges. Based on false verbal evidence from an undercover agent, the local officials railroaded many people whose involvement with the drug trade was nonexistent to long terms in state prison. After the state and national media picked up on the story, the cases were retried and Governor Perry pardoned most of those convicted.

While the police abuse in Electra is small scale in comparison, it is nonetheless the sort of bad publicity no small town with a declining population can afford.

Everyone involved was a jerk, except the prosecutor.

Federal rights are those given by the U.S. Constitution, Amendments to the Constitution,

Wrong.

No rights are given to We The People by The Constitution.

The Constitution limits government and specifically details what God given rights said government may NOT infringe on or violate. Without the Constitution, we would still have these rights but no bulwark against tyrants from violating them and subjugating us.

I have family there and when I visit I’m always surprised by the number of libtard letters to the editor of the local rag. My family sent me the link to this video lasr week. I was shocked at the conduct of the cops, prosecutor and the lame judge. If the cops in north Texas aren’t our friends, the cops anywhere else aren’t our friends.

No, not really.
It’s why I’ve taken to using the term “contraconstitutional”.
(The plus-sides are [1] it hasn’t been numbed via overuse and [2] that it more accurately reflects the idea of ‘going-against’.)

So this is Texas justice?

I suggest everyone watch this video at the link...They messed with the wrong guy who had taken the time to educate himself against government corruption.

BTW, those implying this only occurs in small towns are incorrect.
